I think Oldham are a club who are gambling on getting promoted. Hence a bit of desperation.

Their crowds are shit and their wage bill must be horrendous.

Well, if it is that, then they have backed player over manager which is another recipe for disaster.

But I still say that they are desperate to get up because they are getting deeper into debt.

Spence, I am sure that is what has happened, the BBC has alluded to it.  There was talk of player sackings, but it would appear that the Oldham board has decided to go down the other route.  Something had to give, so it was easier to get rid of the manager rather than three or four players!

Oldham have serious problems. Sheridan was fighting Lee Hughes on a night out the other week. No wonder they have slipped to 8th. He lost all control so i'm not surprised he's been sacked.
