The guy has been sentenced to 3 years in prison. Can't believe that.... What he did was one of the funniest things I have seen in years, that said I guess that doesnt mean he should get off lightly?

If I recall he looked quite smug after dodging the shoes.

Assaulting a foreign dignitary, carrying a maximum sentence of 15 years. 15 years! The guy was let off lightly on that count but it's still daft.

There is going to be an appeal. He will have a reduced sentence, probably.

Just think what would have happened to him had it been Saddam who was dodging the shoes instead of the Bush...

Didn't say it did. Merely pointing out that he's alive and not dead.

I thought Bush came out of it quite well. For a bloke who's widely perceived as a bit of a dopey sod (Bush not me), I was impressed by the speed of his reaction in dodging the shoes and how he bounced straight back with a joke.

Surely it's attempted assault on a foreign dignitary? He didn't actually connect did he?

It's not that admirable, he's used to it from games of head the horse shoe on his ranch, which is a popular Texan pastime played on Sunday afternoons usually where the prize for the winner is to be shot 'accidentally' by Donald Rumsfeld from a moving wheelchair !

Plus the bloke who threw his shoes held the first one up and shouted at Bush, raising Bush's attention.
Or maybe he secretly has ninja powers and the dumb American thing is just an act

Come on guys, credit where its due. You might have prior warning that the shoe's on its way, but you've still got to be able to anticipate where it's going to hit and make sure you're not in that space when it does. Which is no mean feat, as our keepers have amply demonstrated all season, only kind of in reverse
