In fact what I said in response to the statement from the Board that it may be necessary to sell in Jan, was that it meant Cox as he is the only saleable asset. I don't recall ever saying the Board actively wanted relegation...rather, perhaps if they were serious about avoiding relegation, then we needed some new players.

My thoughts are that we have the basis of a good team. Some of the performances this season have been good, & we haven't been thrashed by any one really. When we've drawn rather than won, or lost rather than drawn it's been by the odd goal. What really annoys me is when we don't get what we desreve, because of poor decisions by the officials. I may have a complex or I might be biased, but seems to me half the time we are against 12 men. Even the Scunthorpe game the ref gave one of their players a yellow when it was blatant red. The one thing we are lacking is confidence & swagger. But I am totally convinced that our manager will get us out of the position we find ourselves in. I can think of 4 teams right away that would rather be where we are in the table, & Nam must be really worried about tomorrow night. I really expect to beat them, particularly if we can get a goal in the first half, but even a draw will leave them 12 points adrift. A win for us will in my opinion as good as see them going down.

Cheltenham are as good as down anyway. When is the cut off for -10 points for entering administration? If it hasnt passed I wouldnt be surprised if they enter it.
If they dont and do go into admin they are proper fucked, from what I understand they'd have -10 for entering admin and because of the current economic climate they wouldnt be able to agree a CVA so would effectivly exit admin without a CVA and get a further -15 points for that.
All rumour at the moment though.

We could do with a couple of lower mid table sides going into admin and getting docked 10 points....

The Board never said they would need to sell in January. I fear they might need to in the close season, but if it's a popular player(s) I guess they could risk a supporter backlash. Season ticket sales are likely to go down before any sales, so it will be interesting to see what happens. I think you said once or twice that the Board had accepted relegation due to the handling of the Malpas sacking and your suspected subsequent appointment of a cheap option manager.

So Tomorrow is a huge game for us. Anything other than a win will not be good enough, It could get very nasty in the stands tomorrow if we lose with chants of “you don’t know what your doing” and “your not fit to wear the shirt” lets hope it doesn’t come to this but our players need to get their heads out of their asses. Its time the players (apart from our abck 4 and Coxy) start giving a shit. I think Wilson will have them motivated, hopefully the crowd will not get on their backs and save it for Allen and the ref.

The 18th Law of the Games is common sense, the idiot from last Tuesday doesn't deserve to be running the line at Wantage.

There was never any such statement. And you spent most of November/December asserting as fact that Cox was leaving in Jan

Is Reg TCP, or does he also have dealings with the youth team?
