I'm sure you'll get over it, just lean back and think of Peacock.

You'll always get stick Gary cos you take STFC so fucking seriously it's borderline mental. Your MSN, Facebook etc are all saying the same thing as you've said in this thread. I bet you've posted similar threads on every board you post on.

Haven't you got something else to get annoyed about?

lets face it, most footballers would rather win than lose on a Saturday, but our current squad comprises players who either aren't from Swindon, don't like not playing in front of smallish crowds or have been through a lot financially with the club, so most of them don't really give a shit.

That's not their fault, but the fault of our manager/s who have brought them in. Being a successful manager isn't about finding the best players, it's about finding the best players who give a shit. That's why chelsea/arsenal/liverpool are losing to United - love them or loathe them, the United players are all winners, and it stems from the top.

Wilson seems to have more of an idea of the kind of character needed. Greer is committed, passionate. Kanu, maybe good and shit in equal measure, but he's always demanding the ball, he wants to play, to win. A far cry from Macca, who as good as he is goes missing too often.

Timlin, Ifil, Cox, Greer... yeah they might have shit games from time to time, but they want to win, you can tell by the way they act on the pitch. I don't mind seeing Town lose as long as they've tried. Milwall for example, we conceded so late but we'd worked our tits off, so we had no grounds to complain.

If we're lucky, we'll win the games we need to and stay up, we then shift the dead wood and get players in who want to compete next season. Wilson, I'm sure, can identify these players, Malpas couldn't. He wanted numbers in and that's not enough. If we stay up I'm sure we will shift a lot of players...

Either way it's all about games like tomorrow night and not Tranmere away. We'll soon find out who gives a shit about playing for us...

Maybe I do take STFC so seriously. There is a very real and personal reason for that. Since I moved back to England from Canada, I had no friends really when I moved back. Not that anyone should give a shit however I met most of my current mates through STFC part from ones through work etc. I went to my first game in 1983 with my Dad and yes missed a few years living in Canada, only catching the occasional game, People who know me know I never got on well with my Mum, I do now, however when I went to football, I could forget all the shit going on at home. So yes I do take STFC very seriously etc. Maybe too seriously at times. I don’t expect sympathy and expect some smart ass remark back saying how I never got on well at home etc. that’s fine but that’s the reason I take it so seriously because it means a lot to me for personal reasons. Now I get on well with my Mum, have great set of mates and see football etc as well. There are people a lot worse off, say with cancer, no money, homeless, lost a friend/family member etc. These players get paid to play football and no they don’t have to have loyalty or whatever but would it really hurt them to play 90 minutes of football and earn their pay?

rubbish but nippy. yes

I thinking its a bit harsh to call Big Kev rubbish.

He came into the side, did well at right back had a piss poor game against Huddersfield. Came back in at left back under Wilson, did alright and has done ok on the right wing.

Now he has a settled position and a run of games I think he will do alright for us. He looked very good at Leicester and thought was our most attacking threat against Hartlepool and should have never gone off.

I was only joking really, he has improved under Wilson.  Trouble is i remember him playing against us for both City & yeovil and thinking he looked quality.  He's not been anywhere near that level for STFC yet.

True but at both those clubs he got a run in the team in the same position. He hasnt quite had that yet.

I hope there is more to come from Big Kev though, although he isnt due another goal for 3 years...

i dont get why any of our players would just coast along.a few of them will end up on the football scrap heap whether they give 100% or not.surely none of them wants to be one of those players?
if it were me i'd be trying to secure my future,be that at stfc or elsewhere.
