as a bloke in his 20's who plays football, i'm surpised you dont play on saturdays at the moment.it beats the shit on offer at the county ground for sure.when i played i still saw a fair chunk of town games, just not as regularly.
Because without a job I dont play much 5 a side anymore (used to play about 6 times a week, sometimes three times in a day) because I cant justify spending between £4-£5 a time.
The pounds are flying on (6 in the last month for a skinny fucker like me) and im incredible unfit by my standard. I wouldnt last more than 15 minutes at the moment. I did pre-season with a Saturday team in the summer, infact I think i'm even signed on for them - just never played because I go and watch Town?!
Exactly. Gazza - you've done nothing but spout bollocks in this thread. Arnt you one of the people who solely blame cureton for deliberatly missing easy chances in order to get a free transfer? Fucking commited that is.
Thats me

and I stand by it....he wanted a free transfer to Colchester the only way he could get it was if we went down
I see Gazzas point slightly, some of our player did put the effort it. Ifil has always tried but ultimately he was poor that season. Ricky Shakes despite being the worst football I have ever seen* he was never a lazy player. Migz was always a 100%er but Iffy didnt like him. Neale McDermott was slow as fuck but always put in a good shift despite having no connection to the club, we all remember the Bristol City celebration. Rory Fallon, although probably playing for a move. I loved watching a 16 year old Jutkiewicz play towards the end of that season because he worked his bollocks off and put the others to shame, I remember his first start away at Scunthorpe he had to be taken off after about an hour because he was practically dead he had chased everything and the Scunthorpe defenders knew they had been in a fucking game, you could hear the collective sigh of relief as he went off.
Sadly, 100% isnt always good enough. You could play myself, bennett, si pie, samdy & pook in we'd all put in a 100% (well maybe Bennett wont!!!) but it wouldnt be any good because we're all shit (compared to L1 standard)
Effort alone wont keep us up you need a bit of talent as well and as the seasons gone on I've come to realise our players dont have that talent. Of course i'd rather see us scrap and lose than just lose but effort isnt the key - we need a bit of quality as well.
Fabian Brandy on loan from Manchester United is banging in the goals for Hereford at the moment, I expect the fans wouldnt care if he was lazy, in it for himself and sits down when the balls down the other end because he's got ability.
* more than 5 times, otherwise is Casal
