Sitting at the traffic lights in Corporation Street about 11-30 this morning and witnessed a steam train going over Whitehouse Bridge, not close enough to catch name or number, don't know whether it was the brand new one just been built or what.  Wondered whether Reg knew about this, or anybody else on the forum?

I had forgotten about it too Reg, was it the new engine and where was it going?  It was chuntering on at a fair old pace across Whitehouse Bridge.

At the danger of being branded a boring git, it was 70013 Oliver Cromwell on her way to Newport. Due back through Swindon on way back to Paddington at 19.46 if anyone is interested!

If you are into that sort of thing Reg, you have got a Castle through Swindon on the 28th March - a proper Swindon locomotive!

If you look at http://www.uksteam.info/tours/trs09.htm about a week beforehand the times should be there.
