'We need to reach the magic 50-mark'

DANNY Wilson is targeting the “magic 50-point mark” in Town’s bid to beat the drop from League One, starting with three this afternoon at Tranmere Rovers.

You'd have thought Wilson would know by now having taken MKD down to L2, by accumulating 50 points. They'd have still gone with 52 that season, on goal difference.

he could be right, still at least 10 teams in the relegation scrap all taking points off each other. 50 could well be enough.

Of course as Reg has said teams have gone down with 50 points in the past.

I've always gone with 52 as no one has gone down with that amount.

Torquay went down with 51 in 04-05 if that helps, and there's a few 50s in the past 6/7 years, but haven't found any 52s going back to 2002

The last team to get relegated from this division was Fulham, in the 1993/94 season
