My point was not about your local area dispute with Mosque visitors of which I know nothing.  It was about the fact that you have turned this local dispute in to a tirade against all people who you call "Pakis" - as we all know this term is not just a colloquialism for nationals of Pakistan.  It is an offensive, outdated generic term for anyone considered to be from a very large area of the world, always used in a derogatory context.  Unless you know for a fact that every single person parking in your street at that time is in fact from Pakistan, in which case I salute your attention to detail...

Given that he has a pakistani (I think) in his avator I would guess it is a wind up.

If the term 'Paki' did not have a history, you would have a point.  Sadly, it does.  It was widely used in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s to refer to people from the Indian sub continent and (as other have said) was always used in a derogatory and condescending way.  It has never been a term of endearment.

When you hear people use the word 'Paki', it says so much more about the person using the word than it does the individual being referred to.  (Invariably, they are either elderly or poorly educated, or both.)

not knowing very much about the history of the word Paki and the older generation who used it in the 50's, 60's and 70's i can only refer to now. to me Paki isn't a racism word but as you sau because of how it was used in the past then i can see why it would be. Shame really as everyone then seems to jump on it the minute anyone mentions the word. i.e. DMR comments towards Spencer. DMR is clearly the cock for jumping on the bandwagon in my opinion.

Also the press for jumping on Prince Harry when he refered to his Army mate as his "little paki friend".

Next thing everyone will be strung up for taking the piss ut of gingers as clearly thats in the same ball park is it not?!

Just because to your ignorant of the fact it's a racist term doesn't mean it isn't.

I'm sure most gingers have been at the nasty end of a bit of ribbing now and again, but if you're claiming it's the same thing as the nasty organised racism towards asians from then, well, you're a bit stupid really.

Don't know if it's me just being high-and-mighty rahhhh man or something, but you're coming across as a bit of an idiot MR.
