I won't add my mum as a friend.
I wish I fucking hadn't!! She comments on almost every picture/blog I put on Facebook and always in a really cringeworthy way that only mum's seem to be able to pull off! I couldn't really not add her though as she lives in the States and I don't see her much.

My boyfriends dad is addicted to it - constantly adding photos and updating his status bless him.

I delete people who update their status too often or continually post links to "news" stories and such like. I even removed the wall application so I don't have to receive the same shitty joke or video 70 times a week.
Thinking about it, I should just delete my account and be done with it!

As someone who uses Facebook to stay in touch with people I hardly ever see, due to distance, I think it's a good communication tool.
This sniffy attitude of Ben's, his boyfriend and OF is pathetic. If you don't like Facebook, don't go on it.
You sound like a bunch of whiny cunts.
I appreciate facebook as a communication tool. It has almost completely taken over from email for me, is great for keeping in contact with old uni mates/cousins on the other side of the world, and makes arranging nights out and other get-togethers much easier. But along with that you also get all the unavoidable superflous bollocks which people put on there, mostly about themselves. Status changes are the pinnacle of the bollocks. Though from time-to-time they can be amusing.

Inappropriate group invitations are a bit of an odd one. I've never invited people to a group before, does it just default to sending it out to everyone of your friends?

there's probably a check box for 'all', but you can select individuals too.
