Copy and paste jobby but.... The ground is walkable from the city centre (15-20 minutes), where there are plenty of pubs to be found. Most of the pubs near to the stadium are home fans only. In particular 'The Victory' and 'The F Bar' pubs should be avoided by visiting supporters. Plus the 'Half Time Orange' pub located just over the road from the away end, is a members-only Leicester City bar.
Andy Jobson a visiting Southampton fan informs me; 'Probably the best bet for away fans is the Counting House pub on Freemens Common Road. It has a good mix of both sets of supporters, with all the normal facilities on offer'. Beaumont Fox adds; 'This pub is located just off the Aylestone Road, past the Local Hero pub (home fans only) and the Mecca Bingo Hall. It does though exclude away supporters when the game is deemed to be a 'high profile' one'. Andrew Whitefield a visiting Ipswich supporter also recommends 'The Leicester Gateway, on Gateway Street, near to the hospital. This is quite a big pub, busy but not overcrowded, with a mixture of home and away fans. It offers a wide selection of beers, including real ales and has a simple match day menu for food of burgers, sausage baps, chips etc... which were enjoyable and good value'. This pub is listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and is around a 15 minute walk away from the away entrance. With the away entrance at your back, turn left and go along the back of the stand. When you reach the Leicester City Club Shop, bear right and cross over the road. Follow this road down to the junction with Upperton Road. Turn right at the t-junction and then you need to cross over the road to the opposite side and then continue right to you reach Jarrom Street. Go along Jarrom Street and take the fourth left into Gateway Street. The pub is a short distance along this road on the right.
For those arriving by train then 'The Hind' pub across the road from the station serves a selection of real ales. Otherwise alcohol is available inside the stadium.

My experience from years past of drinking in Leicester is not pleasant, nasty buggers. I will look for a place five or six miles outside of the city and then move to the ground about 2.15pm.

Doubt it, some of the worse supporters I've ever come across.

I spent my university days in Leicester and the Counting House is probably your best bet. It's only five minutes to the stadium and whenever I went on match days was always busy with both home and away supporters. It's in the same little zone as the cinema and the bingo hall, as well as a big supermarket (used to be a Sainsburys in my day, but I think might now be a Morrison) so there's loads of parking there, though they may be charging for football traffic as they sometimes did when I went to do my shopping on a weekend!
Unless things have changed massively in the last 6 years then I would stay well away from The Hind outside the station. Was always trouble in there despite the 3 police riot vans that used to park up outside.
As that article up there says, the town centre is only 20 mins away so there's plenty of alternatives.

We haven't played them for 15 years...before that only about 6 games ever and a couple of those were mid week. Leicester fans have never struck me as being too different to most other clubs fans....

Yeah, I dont know if you went to Nottingham Forest last season? But they had the Notts County bar open for us that day. It will be some manky back street working mans club. The police phoned the coach company who we are travelling with and told them this would be happening. Just saying because I think it could be quite bad up there saturday. Shame really as we were pretty accomodating to them, had really good banter in the Tap with a load of them early on in the season. Best pre home game Ive had for years.

If you're staying for a few hours I'd suggest the 10 minute walk to braunstone gate. The pump and tap was my local when I lived there (got some strange looks when I requested the Swindon v Brighton playoff game shown on the big screen - but they did). Also along that street you have The Left Bank, Loaf, The Orange tree and several other bars. Good place for a piss up in a range of about 200 yards.
Also, what used to be the jam jar (opposite the pump and tap) used to have a gentlemans club attached to it (not sure if it still does). Frankly they may look good but honestly when they open their mouths...Jesus.

As another ex-resident, it's probably the New Road Inn for me. Easy to find on Welford Road, away from the city centre but within easy walking distance to the ground.
