I suppose they did a bit more than use their best endeavours to cancel his contract

Hope this is a lesson for all those youngsters who believe the golden ticket will be theres going to a premier side.
Stay at Swindon, play reserve footie and the few first team appearances as and when they come along.

Mature at a lower level, learn the game and when you have the experience move on, Morrison take note.

I imagine he's lined up a deal at Gillingham.

Didn't we get a fairly decent fee for the young Mills?  I thought it was a reasonable chunk plus the usual extra based on appearances.

Certainly worth a look at based on past pedigree although anyone know hoe he got on at Gilliscum?

Judging by the comments on their rivals site, he was ok if unspectacular. They seem to want him back though.

£100,000 if I recall, plust appearance percentages.
He must have shown great talent to go to Spurs at such a young age, how much income could have come our way if he went through his proper apprenticeship in the lower division?

I suppose the recent transactions of average teenage players from our club to the greedy Premiership gives you an idea!!

I think the deal was potentially worth £1m, but that would have only happened if he went on to be some megastar I expect!

I don't blame the lad. At that age very few kids know what they want to do job wise least of all who to work for. His guidance should have come from his parents, & the club. (Back then I can imagine a certain person drooling over the transfer money & telling him, to sign In fact he was so keen to get him he screwed up the contract accepting the words "best endevours")
It was refreshing to hear that recently the new guys took time to speak with one of our current youngsters & his dad & got them to see that he stands a better chance of progreessing by staying with us.

He was England Under 16's Captain at one point if I recall correctly.  Sign him on, Jofree's knackered so we need another option in the middle. End of the season deal like the two triallists

I can believe that. Unless I'm forgetting some players their best yoof product in ages is the medicore Jamie O'Hara.  ledley king and sol campbell where probablly the last ones who were actually really good,   which is shit for a big club with a massive catchment area.

And Ledley King can't even manage one 90 minute game a week. What is actually wrong with him?
