Has he lost it? Looks to me like the pressure has got to him massively in the last few weeks, we saw the keegan-esq blow up against Fergie and now he's having a moan about Redknapp 'claiming' he wanted to sign Robbie Keane - which if you listen to the interview isnt the case. Seems to me like Rafa and Liverpool have or on the verge of bottling the best chance they've had in years?

Tottenham were moaning about the Keane transfer when he headed to Anfield... Now Liverpool are trying to reverse it me thinks.

I've enjoyed reading Liverpool fans comments, you'd think they were doomed - Yes, yes they've thrown away a good position in the league but they're still 2nd, in the FA Cup and in the Champions League. My heart bleeds for them.

Benitez is the best con artist in the history of liverpool.

He has (for Liverpool) a piss-poor in the league, but keeps the fans onside by blaming everyone else.

First of all it's the owners, and then the uncertainty about the stadium, now it's the other managers.

It's all a smokescreen to hide the fact that Liverpool have spent millions, but realistically are still not seen as genuine title challengers.

Most people (including a majority of Liverpool fans) expect them to fall away at the end of the season and leave the title to Man U & Chelsea.

Funny innit.

I wish our past con artists produced an FA Cup & Champions League though.

Yeah, because we are competing with Liverpool.

And I'm sure they see us as their biggest rivals, not Man Utd, Arsenal & Chelsea.

Liverpool are now what Spurs were in the past,  a cup team.
If Liverpool fans are happy to settle for that, then that's OK, but I'm sure they wan't to see themselves as a rival to Man U.

And don't start on the Champions League, they shouldn't even have been in it, they haven't been champions for donkeys years.

I wasn't comparing Liverpool with Swindon! Simply highlighting the fact that these "con artists" still achieve success that would keep large sections of their fanbase content.

...and it's not Liverpool's fault they qualified for the Champions League! Didn't Manchester United win it in 1999 as Runners-Up in the league? Not sure, I think so.

All I was trying to say is that a club with the size and tradition of Liverpool should be competing for the Championship, and the fact is that they haven't.

What Benitez has managed to do is deflect all of the criticism away from him.

Of course he would, he's a part of liverpool. Always the victim.

Yep, I don't like Liverpool that much - actually, I think their fans annoy me more (I know it shouldn't). Rafa Benitez is one of an increasing list of Liverpool managers who have tried and failed (thus far) since Dalglish won their last title.
