Just wandered up and did the shopping for my mum. Silly fat lady on checkout didn't put the bottle of wine through properly.. I wondered how all my shopping only came to £5.30.

I think I'll do the right thing and pocket the extra change and not tell my mum.

I love the Old Town Co-Op. Don't ever go there if there's something you need though, more of a perusing shop.

I do nearly all my shopping in the Co-Op...I'm so fucking clever me, that I can use the self service check outs.

I didn't know they had them. Wouldn't have got free wine using the self service check out.

It's a fair point...I feel a bit guilty about using them as it will mean job losses for check out staff....always a good source of 16 year old birds.

I know this as I worked in a supermarket when leaving school aged 17...first wage packet 8 GBP's a week

Co-op seemed healthy on the checkout staff today, I had a choice of 3 down the car-park end, all of which were queue free. I definitely chose the right one.

It could be a pricing error on their system. I'd get down there with the bonus change and buy another bottle of wine to test the theory. You can scan it on the self checkout first to check the price.

I checked the receipt and it's not listed. Maybe it did an error beep and she thought it was the done beep. Who knows.

Tempting to go back but I'm in full roast dinner prep mode now.

It couldnt have gone through if it had she would have had to press her screen once to confirm her age, once to confirm Bens age and one last time to confirm the sale... if she had thought you looked either 18-20 or 21-30 she would have had to press another button to confirm that she had seen ID

Thankfully i dont have to work on those stupid tills unless its to authorise something!

My daughter worked at the Coop in Gorse Hill for 2 years,it was a seriously worrying time for me because some real fruitcakes used to go in there..alot usually walked out without paying,no problems with that but did have some run ins with idiots who thaught it was clever to constantly go in and scare her...the Xtra points did come in handy but ime glad to say shes left now!
