If Wilson is looking for a big forward, how about Kevin Kyle?
Played for Pools for the first half of the season, and just gone back to Coventry.
If Wilson liked the guy I guess he will be high up the list, whatever we think of him.

Kevin Kyle is flippin' shite, I would hate to see him play for us, the fact he's been capped for Scotland is a disgrace to the shirt.

He was dire against us in the 3-3.

I will be disappointed and surprised in equal measures if Wilson is looking for a 'big forward' Huh?

Why disapointed ost? We have needed one the last 3 games and previously paynter has been poor.

That's because Paynter isn't a target man!

We do actually need a good target man. Paynter holds the ball well and Corr can win the flick ons but we need someone who can do both. If we could morph Paynter and Corr we'd have a bloody decent forward for L1 level (minus Corr's injuries obviously).

(and corr's amazing slippery slippers mean he's on his ass (not as a prelude to him being stretchered off))

You'd think with his build he should be, but he just not good enough in the air to be a good target man. We can lump the ball to him all we like, but 9 times out of 10 the defender will win it.

because he isnt.

He's better with the ball at his feet because he can play a bit, I realise a target man can have the ball given to his feet but a STFC target man cant, its always hoof, hoof, hoof.

He links up play well so obviously players better facing the goal rather than having his back to it. Plus despite being pretty well built most of the defenders are bigger than him.

Our strikers lack of decent hold up play is a big problem in my opinion. Be interesting to see how many goals have come from this

Steve Brooker on loan perhaps? A genuine target man, and a good footballer too.

Bristol City have just signed another striker so he'll be wanting some games.

cox being on his ass for the first goal recently against yeovil might give you a decent starting point
