Just posted this in the other thread.

Wenger offering O'Neill out is a class image, they'd better show it on MotD

You're not wrong.

Nottingham Forest's chairman looking for a quick buck. Oh well, if Calderwood really wanted to come here he would have resigned surely?

well done to Nottm Forest for hanging onto him untill we appointed a new manager.

Isnt Danny Wilson an ex Forest player as well?

If Calderwood was interviewed and offered the job and the stumbling block was compensation then the Forest board have acted pretty badly. It also makes you wonder if Wilson being appointed was a factor - Forest realised they wouldn't be able to offload Calderwood and get compensation from us so they just cut their loses and sacked him.

Either way, if Calderwood wanted the Swindon job I would guess he is not a happy bunny at the moment.

Football is a funny game.

Sods law that he gets sacked the very day we finally appoint a new manager. That's football though and whilst in some ways i'm dissapointed he won't be coming here I am quite pleased he will not be ruining his rep here and I do believe that we have made a good appointment in the form of Danny Wilson.

As has been mentioned on another forum, appointing Calderwood would not have made it 1989 again.

Whenever weve played Danny Wilson's teams they have always been hard working and organised. A couple of times at Ashton Gate they rang rings around us as well. Whereas Forest werent too smart at ours last year and they were very boring at home. I could see what their fans were on about.

Just saying that in my opinion weve got the better manager. Theres still plenty of time for Calderwood in the future.
