Ian Holloway.  By an absolute mile.

Because sometimes the bleedin obvious is bleedin obvious for a reason.

While I agree that Holloway has the experience, I'm still not convinced that he is the answer.

No man has come out and pleaded for this job (other than several fans), which is the sort of thing I'd expect someone like Holloway to do! The last club he took over during the relegation battle ended horribly (for Leicester fans anyway) despite all the talk.

Danny Wilson. Because it won't be Holloway and it probably won't be Money or Hockaday. He's the most experienced candidate really that we don't have to pay for. Really not too keen on Staunton or McAllister.

Assuming Money is a no go, Wilson.

Hockaday would be the worst appointment since Malpas. Smiley

It would have been nice to see Holloway but as this is highly unlikely to happen I suspect Danny Wilson would be a very worthwhile alternative.... Just having a Manager would be nice...!!!!

Gus Hansen.

I'd go with Hockaday above Wilson.

Could be a bit of a Maplas-esque risk, but despite the eventual outcome I still agree with the reasons and thinking behind the Malpas appointment, so it doesn't bother me if it is a bit similar. Sometimes doing the right thing for the right reasons doesn't work out, that's life (and poker, ahem).

Hockaday seems like less of a risk, has bonus points on Malpas. He's like Super Malpas II Turbo.

Holloway gives be a bad feeling. I'm not sure why. I generally quite like the bloke.

Holloway leaving Plymouth to **** up at Leicester was the reason why we lost Sturrock, bad karma.

Danny Wilson's knowledge of this league will a big help in keeping us up.

Joe Kinnear?

Lead sports news story in the Express this morning (I saw the headline on SSN just as I was leaving for work). Nothing in it IMO, so that's my quota of bollocks fulfilled before 8am......

Of course not. But then its old news anyway.

I found this article on the BBC website somewhat more interesting.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2008/12/mcallister_out_what_next_for_l.html#051838

I know it refers to Leeds, but I am warming to the idea that Billy Davies should be the man we appoint as our next manager. Is he likely to want to come here after being linked to Leeds? We'd probably have to punch above our weight to get him, but he would be my first choice at this moment in time.

Dave Hockaday.
He's got all the coaching credentials necassary and, although its not guaranteed that he'll be able to make the step up to 1st team manager, I think he would be a "long term" appointment who could build the club back up.
