They will have a new manager in place by Saturday, it does  beg the question why does it take us 5 weeks to install a new manager

The fact they have loads of money may help!!

Makes no difference we had 50 applicants but have decided to go for someone in a job already. I suspect the difference is they were already planning a replacement before they fired Ince and the guy they want is already free (Souness or Allardyce).
With all this it still does not explain why we have taken 5 weeks it is almost like we were giving Byrne a chance to get the job.

What I meant was that the calibre of manager is not an option to a club like Blackburn as they can pretty much afford any manager possibly in the world (apart from the real top class ones I mean). We have a budget and therefore have to be a bit choosy on who we try and appoint. We could have offered a few managers jobs but we won't have been able to afford there wages etc.

Money talks.

Too much, too quick..........ala John Barnes at Celtic.

and ala roy keane, tony adams and gianfranco zola. promoting ex-players straight to management positions in the premier league with little or no experience is a dumb idea.

hughes got the wales job as his first did he not? he's the exception. and southgate seems to be doing alright at the boro.

A couple of weeks ago he looked like he was going to cry during his post-match interview.

Personally, I don't think you can underestimate the sale of Brad Friedel to Villa. I imagine they didn't get along at Liverpool back in the proverbial day. Signing players like Keith Andrews was never going to take you team into the UEFA spots.

Hughes didn't do that well at Wales, certainly at first. I remember going - it was a fiver - and seeing them get beat by a very average Poland side. Mind you they did have some terrible players then + R.Giggs.
