We'd have won the league if we had either Wise or Sturrock for the whole season. You say we only scraped it but actually if we'd have beaten Rovers and held on against Walsall we'd have won the league. Changing managers and dropping 6 points at home to Hereford and Lincoln that season cost us.

We definitely had a bit of a stutter getting over the line. A sort of shaky tremor. Nobody but Sturrock to blame for that one then.

And if we'd have won loads more games this season we'd be higher up the league.  If I looked like Brad Pitt I'd be a model.  If I earned 100k a year I'd buy a Bentley.  If is a big word.  We did get promoted, and it was deserved, but it certainly was by the skin of our teeth.  No guarantee we would do it again.

i might even see us finish top six in the prem in the next 50 years, does a season in L2 really mean that life is over?
