iNTERESTING - Walsall's defence has been shocking since Money left them and now have equalled their record for not getitng clean sheets since he left... could be a very good appointment if the comments below come true....

Good review by a walsall fan on Dickie Dosh, My comments in brackets

pro's

He will have you very well organised (Isn't that the captains job? But a good thing)

He plays it very simple

The defence will be excellent (Good because its been shocking)

you will be successful (Good as we have been shit lately)

cons

childish and immature attitude towards the fans and the press (Andy King/ MM MK 2, Thought Fitton wanted someone fan friendly? I guess wins do get fans on side though)

He does play long ball (Long ball under Luggy wasn't nice to watch but got results so didn't care)

He doesn't play with any width whatsoever, plays very narrow, I think in one game we had about 8 defensive players on the pitch (Bye Bye Macca)

Some terrible signings (Can't be any worse than Casal, Nalis and Amankwaah??)

in summary

You will be very successful but the football or his relationship with anyone associated with the club wont be pretty

If your number 1 concern is success and you couldnt give a monkeys about the negative stuff then DD is your man!

OTHER FANS SAID...

You'll get results.
You'll be really hard to beat and it'll be rare to see an opposing side score more than 1 against you.
You'll have a team full of players who will work really hard for eachother.
You'll have a manager who will always put the best interests of the team ahead of those of individual players.

Essentially, you'll be what the majority of football fans at this level are happy to see.

For some reason, Money got a bit of stick from a minority of morons who sat behind the dugout at our place and he wasn't backed by our chairman.
Richard Money did an outstanding job with us during his time at our place. I'll always thank him for that and wish him all the best wherever he goes.

---You will have an excellent manager who understands the concept of tactics, subs and getting the best out of a team.
Our loss will be your gain, I wish him well if he joins you.

---Brilliant manager and I'd love him back tomorrow. No, make that TODAY, and get rid of this clown we have now!

Apart from his rather bristly style with the fans and press, I found NOTHING to criticise Dicky Dosh for, and I enjoyed the football most of the time. Every side has bad days and sometimes they weren't pretty, but right now I'd appreciate "effective" tremendously compared to what the fans (those that are still going that is, we had under 3,800 yesterday!) are apparently having to endure right now.

The references to hoofball are way OTT and, it seems, relate to the bloke who is currently in charge at the Banks's. The football under DD was massively better, more effective, more organised, more committed and more successful (well I guess it couldn't be less successful) than this idiot that we have now.

I hope DD gets this new managerial appointment and that he is as successful there as he was with us. We owe him a massive "thank you" for saving us from free-fall into the Conference and completely reversing our fortunes in his first season such that we won the League Two Championship in 2007 and went on by January 2008 to be mighty close to a decent promotion opportunity from League One. It's just such a shame that, at that point, our esteemed leader completely wasted all that progress and chose to take us back two years to where we were - and maybe worse than we were - under Merson!

Good luck to you and DD if you can get him on board, and a great big   to the fools at the Banks's

I think Walsalls defence getting worse has something to do with them selling their best two defenders to Coventry more so than Money leaving.

Thats an ace synopsis from Walsall fans Gazza. Well done.

Sounds like Money could do a good job for us then. Sturrocks style of play wasn't always exciting but it got results and a promotion. If Money could get us settled and possibly promoted in the next couple of seasons I'd settle for him being a stroppy cunt with the press and the fans.

If he's that stroppy, it would be the best of both worlds for fans because we could all moan like fuck on the forums as well as see the club do well. Result Cheesy

If it was RM the board wanted then you would imagine it would have been a quick appointment as he is youth director or something and you'd think if he wanted to move back into managment it would be done quickly as he'd resign and they would quickly agree compo as it isn't as if they are losing their manager.

I can only think that Money asked for the weekend to consider his options before a decision today.

I suspect if it does not get done today then it is not Money they are after, and we will have to wait another week as I think Fitton flies to the US today, although why Watkins cannot deal with it I don't know, he is chief exec for a reason.

Erm, aren't you just raising an objection to your own assumptions? Maybe if you assume that Fitton flying to the US won't hold things up, you'll feel better about it Smiley

I think I'm trying to convince myself that we will have a manager in by Sat and all will then be right with the world

I'd be pretty under-awed with Money if I'm honest.
