I'm happy with Money, has experience, has contacts on the continent, good nickname.
I have a Walsall supporting mate who lives in Halesowen, he says his style of football is very similar to Sturrocks, defensively strong, like to play with wingers and get balls into the box.
I think a lot of uninformed fans will be grumbling and moaning about the appointment, my season ticket holding dad went 'Who?' when I told him.
If you poster on here and moan then I can accept that 'cos you're all pretty well informed, but all the fly-by-nighters will moan like fuck - and I'll be ruddy well cross with them I can tell you.....
After I said all this its bound to be Gary Speed.

A good choice for the stability of the club long term.

Quote from Walsall fan "his strengths are organisation, fitness and (Asbo excepted of course) discipline. Do not expect to be entertained"
well for one we are not being entertained at the moment, and when we are it's more of a sadistic kind of entertainment so no loss there. What we do lack is any resemblance of organistion at the back, along with the discipline to keep leads or not make horrendous cock-ups. So if as the Walsall fans say he is brilliant at this, bring it on. Maybe he'll be our new Macari!

No we need more than that - not a lot grant you, but we do need that leader in the back line, preferably at centre half. I think as a gesture to the fans for all our suffering, whoever it is should appear at their "unveiling" press conference in cravat, smoking jacket and turkish slippers

by King Crimson on Sat Dec 13, 2008 12:31 pm Be prepared for plenty of 1-0 and 2-0 wins, an organised team that will understand what is required to counter the opposition's threats. It's a 'bricks and mortar' approach - built on fitness, organisation, knowledge of the oppo and playing it simple. I'll settle for that bring it on

Is this guy the next manager...............confirmed? ? It seems like he is a bit of a marmite manager, love him or hate him. The general opinion seems to be that he is a result getter but without any of the sparkly bits. Depends on what you want really, Nice attractive football or results? I would go for the results everytime. Hopefully a bit of sparkle will appear from time to time. I would like to think that a combintion of some of our existing players and Dickie could produce that piece of quality at least a few times during a game. Again, is he our manager? ?

Agree he gets more stick than he deserves as a player, but he's no leader. Unless your definition of leader is bellowing at all the players around him and blaming them when he should be organising them. To take just one example, when he should have been organising the defence for the corner Histon scored from, he instead spent his time laying into Jack Smith for something that had happened about five minutes before. Not my idea of leadership

My point re: Nile Ranger was that we need the manager to worry about the defensive aspects of our game as a primary concern. We're scoring goals at a decent rate, we're just leaking them just as easily.
