A bit. I just couldn't get my head round why the Town End choir had gone so camp.

The Celery song,I never understood what a lump of celery and tickling her bum had to do with football, besides i think it was a chelsea song we adopted, maybe it had meaning for them, why we sang it i dont know.Unless some can enlighten me IIRC, celery was banned from some/many grounds on the basis that a clump of celery could potentially be used as a weapon. Hence the song. Or somefink like that.

That would be right. I got a clump on the ear'ole when we scored the first goal against Gillingham in the play off at Selhurst. (nowhere near tickling territory thankfully). Definitely dangerous.

It was also because Town fans would insert a razor blade into the celery and lob it at the opposition fans.

Ha ha ha i was there for that game. Went in a Limo with red and scarfs hanging out the window, drinking champagne in the M4 services. I was 7/8 (yes on champagne) I used to love the celery song but never understood the "if she dont come, i'll tickle her bum" bit, or why the adults used to piss themselves when i sang it....Bastards!!!

I was convinced, for about a year, that the words to that were '...Oxford fan on a Christmas tree.' Confused me no end.
Hahaha! That made me laugh out loud!! I suppose it does sorta sound like that.....

"And it's Swindon Town, Swindon Town FC, we're by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen"
It's the 'by far' bit i take issue with....
Or, to my 4 year old's ears "....we're my father's greatest team....." which neatly sidesteps any question about us really being the greatest team in the world, or by how much.

Hahaha! That made me laugh out loud!! I suppose it does sorta sound like that..... Does anyone actually know the words of that song......? I've heard rumours that if you sung it backwards it contained a hidden message that praised the devil himself..... Joey Beauchamp....
