The other thing that Byrne's outburst causes is pissing people off, yes ok we all know there is a lot of mongs out there that sit behind their keyboard and moan, but chances are that it is also these people (who live far away) have supported the club for many years and for one reason or another cannot go to games, but come christmas, birthday etc they produce their list and ask for x amount of items of stfc, then after hearing that outburst think fcuk that if that is what they think of me I won't bother.

Byrne is obviously feeling the pressure of no wins and knowing his hopes of getting into the hot seat are now no existant is hitting back at those who dare criticise.

AF wants to usher in a new era of the manager interacting with fan's....Byrne's comments do not help.

Try reading the thread and looking at the comments section on the Adver forum which is what Byrne's comments were aimed at - the ones he's complaining about are largely Swindon (or nearby) based but are still slagging the team/manager/hot dogs off within minutes of the game kicking off (and on one memorable occassion even before - I'm thinking of the bloke who demanded at 2.50 that Timlin be "hauled off, he's rubbish" before the game had even started). It's the "I'm not going back until McMahon/King/Malpas" crew who don't go to games not because they can't but because they don't want to and who don't just have the occasional whinge but have a go at every aspect of the club at every opportunity. We all have a moan from time to time but these guys are moaning about everything. And to be honest, I don't think the revenue streams from selling STFC related items at Christmas to half a dozen Adver keyboard warriors are massive.

To be fair I don't like Byrne, at all, not my preferred style of manager BUT what he said this week is 100% correct, I really don't understand why people seem to be upset with him having a go at the kind of supporters (from a far) that we could do without.

It'd be like me posting on a Hibs site slagging the manager off week in week out, when in truth other than reading newspaper articles I haven't got a clue how they performed.

Think I've been their before DRS, without going too in depth, it's just the way he is really, the way he conducts himself, there's some people in life you get on with, and there's some people you don't.  Just don't like the vibe the gives out at all.

I have no problem if people do like him, each to their own, it's merely a personal thing really.  Same with Williams, I really can't stand that bloke, fucking arsehole.

Agree Jan just don't think he brings anything to the club at all, those that are supportive of him just seem to overlook the fact he was involved in the Malpas reign at all, as if there was nothing he could do as number 2 when in fact he was heavily involved in a very unsuccesful management set up, he needs to go when a new manager comes in for sure.

That's a good call.

Personally I couldn't give a flying fuck about their personality as long as they do well for the club.

That was the youths tho which I have no problem seeing Byrne demoted to again, probably more his level.  The reason we were good under Sturrock is he had the excellent coaching team in Blackley and Summerfield who actually contribute something to the coaching team with tactical knowledge, defensive coaching and fitness work.  When I look at Williams and Byrne and what they bring to the table its easy to see why Malpas failed.

My point of view is so great that anybody who disagrees seems to be overlooking stuff.

What do Byrne and Williams bring to the table?

Have you ever watched them coach?

I havent, of course there is something wrong with the way our team has been playing this season but as far as I can tell you are judging two peoples work despite not having seen any of it.

Alot of people are saying Williams isnt coaching the defensive well, who said hes even coaching the defensive. Maybe Malpas did that and wanted to do it his way? Perhaps the players arent split up and coach specifics.

I keep saying I would but never have, but training would be interesting to watch just to see who really coaches what
