I think we're lucky to have two half decent keepers (its something not many 1st Division teams have) but neither of them have played well this season. I can't help but blame the manager, there is a lack of confidence and a fear of being dropped all the time which together help to cause the mistakes. I reckon the same applies to a number of other players as well.

All of which is the sort of thing a decent manager should be able to sort out quickly and performances should improve. I've been to all the games this season, whilst I only went to the odd game before this season I reckon the team are the best I've seen in a while - or at least have the potential to be the best.

Yes the referee was a twat but he wasn't at fault for the Carlisle goal, our crap team is to blame for that.
Carlisle were awful, so where does that leave us?
Poor old Pooky is over his purple patch, did he once pass to a red shirt?
Come on Fitton make a decision, preferably starting with at least demoting that clown Byrne.

The goal came from a freekick that wasn't a freekick.  Agree about him being a twat though!

As ronnie has said, goal from a free kick that never was. Carlisle should have been down to about 8 men by that time. And our "crap team" created plenty of chances in the first half albeit without really getting into a consistent rhythm and dominated the second half. The only answer Carlisle had was to start chopping people down. Which the ref allowed them to do.

Well heres my ten penneth........
Once again we come up against a team who are there for the taking.
An ugly win looked on the cards but the fragile defence and keeper imploded again..
Carlisle had the spine of a good side and knocked the ball around quickly - far quicker than us and we were often chasing shadows in the first half and rode our luck when Carlisle should of scored.
So we rode our luck and started to get into the game.
Grabbed a well worked goal....after an excellent cross into the box and then faded , sat back and began to panic and of course conceded a late goal from a set piece, what a fucking shock!?
Byrnes didnt help by putting on 'Mr Hexigon boots/what am i doing?' Amankwah for MOM Kennedy, what sort of dickhead substitution was that??
Smith was reasonably ok throughout but again fucked up when the crunch came.
Ifil was solid and has the ability to recover from the odd fuck up with speed and strength.
Arjofree was ok.
I thought Smith did ok.
Kennedy did really well and dragged off for it.
Peacock did more defensive work today and broke up alot of play.
Pook was back to his old 'give the ball away as often as possible' self.
JP was solid enough.
McNamee has to learn that in Div 1 you will not get the ball played 3mm off your toe every pass and sometimes you may have to fight for pocession....saying that, when he did get hold of the ball he did get going and the cross for the goal was superb.
Paynters work sometimes goes unnoticed he won alot of aerial balls today and held the ball up well but sometimes his passes seemed a mystery to himself.
Cox was good as usual but did deserve his booking for his stupid dive....sometimes its better to get stuck in and try and stay on your feet. Also unlucy not to notch today.
Ref was dogshit....poor Peacock was booked for his first bad challenge after McNamee was cut in half three times before that and Kavanagh (who pissed all over our midfield and seemed to have acres of space) should of had a yellow for the late challenge on Smith.
So....i walk away from the CG feeling like we have lost...again.
Simple equation :Draws and defeats = relegation.
A few weeks back the new managers brief would be to improve morale, tighten up the defence and push us up the table....now i fear the brief is avoid relegation...
That dicking of Tranmere seems a long time ago..........

The defence played well today to be fair, they certainly didn't "implode" and nor did Smith. For the goal, JPM (not a defender) lost his man, although Smith should have done better with the initial effort.

Probably one of someone who was watching the game more closely than you obviously were - Kennedy had cramp, he couldn't play on. And given the ref seemed determined to allow anything short of manslaughter, I was quite relieved to see him come off.

Make your mind up - he'd imploded at the start of the post!

Fair enough, except as I say, Kennedy had cramp, couldn't carry on.

Except for being at least as much at fault for the goal as Smith.

I think you're being harsh on dogshit, tbh

Apart from the Ref being Dogshit which I totally agree with , your post sums up my last post perfectly!

Congrats!

Fact is MacNamee is a matchwinner-one of only 2 in the squad.Yeah,he could work a bit harder on the defensive side but he does what he's in the side for brilliantly. However today we seemed to underuse him.Several occasions when were going forward he was in space and screaming for it but it never came.I would look to give him the ball every time yet some of our players dont seem to have confidence in him.Fuck me,there was one occasion when he beat 3 defenders in about a square foot, just before he nearly got sliced in two.I think he's a jewel.I think we have got to look at changing our system with regards midfield-I'd like to see a midfield trio of Easton Timlin holding  and Peacock a bit further up just behind Cox,keep the twop wide players and play Coxy up top on his own.We have got to start bossing the middle of the park.I thought defence today looked sounder than it has for weeks

A defence in a football team has to concentrate for 90 mins plus...

Not 85 and then panic, lunge at everything and give away free kicks.....say what you like .....we let in goals and alot recently in the last 5 minutes....thats implosion in my book.

Oh,and talking of the ref what was that whistle all about after JP had taken that free-kick in the first half? What a twat! How did Thirlwell not get booked for diving in the area?Their right back commityed 3 bookable fouls in the first 20 minutes-no card and a licence to kick lumps out of Macca for the rest of the game.I havent been that incensed by a ref since Mr Reynolds in 1970 v Blackpool!
