Saying people are just accepting him without analysis, purely because they disagree with your analysis is bit arrogant isn't it.

Thats beacuse my analyis is correct.  I'm not being arrogant about it though but my facts are right.

With Fitton suggesting he is chasing 2 managers that are currently employed, I would imagine that CC is not nailed on, I suspect CC to be one of them, I hope the other isn't Ling.

If CC had resigned NF would have released an official statement by now confirming it.

Still think it is bollox

I hear this bounded about a lot, but I don't know any Northampton or Forest fans. Is he really disliked at both clubs, and is the spending too much money thing really a factor?

Taking too long to get "a big club" promoted, I can understand. But it seems odd to dislike a manager for using the resources available. It seems an odd criticism.

As a Forest fan I have to say I like Colin. He's comes across very well in interviews and despite the abuse he's suffered from fans especially over the last month or so has always remained dignified. He has done well in the transfer market with what he has brought in (except Andrew Cole! Although that deal was down to the chairman we hear) but what really lets him down is his tactics. He persists in tinkering with the team and playing players out of position. It's so frustrating at times when 20k Forest fans sat in the stands can see it yet Colin continues to jumble things about when there often is no need to. Another plus point is his willingness to take a chance of some of the youngsters from the academy.

As a league one manager he'll feel right at home and if he choses Swindon, I'm sure the majority of fans will embrace him and given time Swindon will progress.

Thats my point really.  You have to look at the context of the club people are managing.  Ling getting Orient into league 1 and keeping them up on a budget of £0 is a bigger achievment than getting forest out of league 1 after spending millions in my opinion.

Fact?

Its a fact that calderwood spent millions and ling didnt.  Its my opinion that this gives ling the upper hand achievement-wise on that basis.  Hope that clears things up.

Exactly, your opinions based on the facts aren't facts themselves. If people disagree with them it doesn't mean that they're ignoring the facts just because he's a former player.

I'll simplify it for you if you want.

Calderwood spending money at his last clubs - FACT (I presume. Haven't really followed his career)

How much this reflects on his achievements as a manger - NOT A FACT.

Disagreeing with you on the second one doesn't mean "loads of you will just accept him without analysis because he is an all time great STFC player. THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS ABILITY AS A MANAGER"

Do you get now why you were being a bit of a twat? It's really not that complicated.

Forest fans in particular from what I've read are also less than impressed by the nature of the football played by Calderwoods side. It's not exactly like watching Brazil by all accounts.

Like all of us I guess they'd be prepared to put up with a more prosaic playing style if it was an unqualified success. However a lot of them can remember better times and dull direct football that just about scrapes you out of League One and isn't coping in the Championship isn't something that they're too happy with.

Maybe I'm not being as analytical with regard to Calderwood as I would be towards other candidates.

Maybe I have rose tinted specs on because he's inexorably linked (To me anyway) with the best times the club has ever had.

Does that make me a twat? Who gives a fuck. I'm not the most logical, or reasoned when it comes to STFC.

I get the impression that Calderwood is to Forest fans as Malpas was to Swindon fans. There's some sort of bitterly ironic lesson to be drawn out of that probably but I'm buggered if I can think of it right now.
