Higgs could be a good number 2 if Brez leaves in January.

Higgs isnt a bad back up keeper, and yeah when Brez leaves in January...unless the new manager changes his mind...then go for him.
As for financial crysis...I doubt it as they are bankrolled by that super rich bloke.
I think Allen losing the plot is closer to the point.

He was alright in a shit Torquay side, then absolute gash at City.
Higgs would/should be our no 1, Brez or no Brez.

http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/sport/Higgs-ll-sad-leave-club/article-504892-detail/article.htmlWith ex-Robins boss John Ward in contention for the Swindon Town job, Higgs would be keen to switch to the County Ground.
"It's all speculation, but if John gets the job and would take me there, I'd love the opportunity," he added.
That said, if Brez and Smith stay, we don't need another keeper. They are as good or better than Higgs when on form. And Higgs can't have been on form either, or he wouldn't have lost his place.

Been reading around and you are right, but they are at the limit of their wage budget. And the bloke running the show won't break it - so I guess Allen offloading surpless in order to free up wages. Allen has made 9 loan signings and 2 short term deals since arriving. Not sure I fancy Cheltenham's survival chances.

Too true, he'd have been a disaster! Thanks Cheltenham, although having said that I don't think Fitton would have gone for him anyway.

On the basis of the games I've seen him play against us, Higgs is of the same standard as Petr Cech / Gianluigi Buffon

No, no, no I clearly remember people shouting about how we'd missed out by not getting him in, how 'Nam would be mid-table in no time while we sank into relegation mire and how all those loan signings was clear evidence that Allen was a manager who could get players in, unlike our own manager, and further reason why we should have got Allen as manager when we could. Surely they can't all have been talking shit could they?
