From the G&HSwindon Town caretaker boss David Byrne compared the atmosphere at Tuesday night’s match against Peterborough to that of a morgue, and is urging fans to show greater support in future.

It was cold and the majority of the football was uninspiring... it's hardly surprising.

I know he's got his admirers (especially on here) but I really can't warm to DB. Yes the atmosphere was poor, perhaps we should have asked those Leicester fans to come back to the CG to get the atmosphere going again. What does DB expect? The atmosphere at the CG has been crap for ages now.
He does have a point about people telling him to sit down/shut up though, he does have to try and get his instructions over to our players.
PS Gazette Iain, why are you so interested in this Gazette and Herald articles, written by Iain Liddle?? I just can't work it out! ;-)
In all seriousness cheers for the link fella, it's not a site I usually go onto.

I agree Jan, there is something about Budgie that turns me off of him as manager.

I normally berate people who say this, but he was only telling the truth!
I'm ashamed of us fans at times, it's like a library at the CG and we are all to blame.

Agreed Batch, but my point is other than the Leicester match the atmosphere has been dreadful all season. The season ticket offer has killed off the TE, can't see a way for the atmosphere to return at the moment.
Although having said that I did hear some at the back of the Arkells trying to get a song or two going on Tues.

Well in that case we agree. So there. It is impossible to get a song going in our section of the DRS unless it's a big game like Leicester. I think the coffin dodgers expend their energy breathing.

You can make anyone look bad with this kind of selective quoting, taking one line out of a whole interview. He clearly does manage to put things across to the players which IMO is far more important

I had a feeling some quote like this would be made and singled out.
Still, it's not very sensible, especially when you're trying to please the 'punters' and win them over.

Quotes schmotes. If that's what we're after let's get Alistair Campbell as manager. Results and performances, end of.
