Vialli perhaps?  Another who has been making noises about a return to management in England.

I thought that too. Either him or a recently retired big name player

Not sure AF says he has lots of experience...

It is nice to hear Fitton say that it depends on the new manager about back room staff - commenting that some manager like to travel with their own team and some manage rlike to asses what is already there

Remember as well, Fitton is suggesting this big name is vastly experienced and cannot be named due to his current position which suggests he's a manager at the moment.

Any 'big name' experienced managers managing in the SPL at the mo or abroad looking to get into english football ?

Fitton is looking for a track record also which may rule out some of these up and coming managers he's suggested, so a shortlist of 4 or 5:

Big name, Holloway, Dowie, ??

Never thought of that, could easily be a current SPL manager looking to make a step up.

Could be Jimmy Calderwood of Aberdeen...the Board seemingly not knowing too much about Sweatie football (Why MM), think they've heard something about a Calderwood fella.

If that happens I am never going to set foot in the County Ground again.

You have to say it's a brilliant wheeze by AF, dangling this carrot in front of us , so the rumour mill can go into meltdown.

Meanwhile, in the real world John Ward, it is.

Isn't the "big name" the one that he said had applied and would be a dream but might not be right for the club? To me that smacks of someone like Allardyce - would be an amazing move in terms of making people sit up and take notice but possibly not right for the club in that not only does he demand sky-high wages but comes with a similarly expensive entourage the size of which would make an eastern potentate blush!

Anyone else getting speculation fatigue?  Just fucking appoint someone, and start winning a few games....it's 5 wins from 22 games in all comps this season (Aldershot counts as a 1-1 draw)  Not setting the world alight is it.

About a week ago Reg! Reingnited a little bit by Fitton's talking and it's now slowly going again.

I fully expect someone will be in place before Carlisle at home.

Think it might be David Howell....he's a bit shit at the old golf nowadays, as a multi millionaire, wouldn't demand a huge salary.  His bro Ian is something at Chelsea on the youth side, so will come back as assistant.  Ray will be re-instated as Moonraker.
