One thing I will say and I know it's mentioned in the Joyce thread, but I hope to god the new manager restricts the players comments in the press as Morrison should never have said what he did yesterday as it was always going to see Lambert score.

We all know Ricky Lambert is a decent striker at this level, he's scored a belter against us before today. Did Lambert even look in the Swindon Advertiser? Maybe, maybe not. I doubt very much that it made much difference to his game apart from maybe a cheeky little grin as he windmills in celebration.

Ultimately it's up to Morrison & co to prevent the goals going in whether or not you've "psyched up" the opposition.

Good result in hindsight, three points from the last three league games and SEVEN goals, yes seven goals and not one win.
We have a problem Houston and it aint upfront.

TBF today I don't think the defence was helped by how far we were sitting back in the second half it was doing my nut and just inviting pressure.

That's very harsh. He made a reasonable point, drew a reasonable conclusion from the bald facts which is about all you can tell from the radio. He couldn't have been expected to take into account what a nutter the ref was - you really did need to see it to believe it!

I was only pulling his chain!

Oh and I didn't know facts could be bald! Cheesy

No manager, top striker out. Easton injured and paynter in midfield against a team who have scored for fun this year. All things considered a very very good result no matter when the scored

Could have given anything today at any stage. I think he started off a complete homer, but through a mix of outrage and obsenities we managed to get a few decisions out of him.

Shit ref.

I think my favourite one was us getting a free kick when Kanyuka and Phil Smith collided with no Rovers player near them. Truely laughable.

overall a good day, great fun with our fans were well on song.

Ref was cack, some truly astonishing decisions.

If we'd got the equaliser in the dying seconds we'd love it. Same result, different mood. But we're building a record against wovers of them not beating us too recently which is good.

The funniest was the abuse aimed at the fat bloke - "Even Irene turned you down"

We should have pushed on after scoring our second. Instead we tried to defend and went further and further back. I was disappointed that one of our main outlets, Macca, was subbed for Aljorfree as it meant even when we got hold of the ball the options were limited.

Byrne's doing ok, but he isn't the answer long term...

Phillips must have filled his piggy bank up yesterday, the amount of coinage he was given.

Is there any particular reason why people keep referring to Rovers as 'Wovers'? Is it some bizarre show of support for Jonathan Ross or something?

And in other news, I'm still not sure if Lambert meant the first goal but I'm leaning toward a yes. If he did, it was an absolutely brilliant bit of skill and probably one of the best goals I've seen in the flesh.

Yes,strong rumours from their end (wherever he was playing) we HAD done the deal. Then nothing. Then a bit later he went to Rovers.

My take was we didn't have any money to seal the deal, Rovers stepped in. I think it was around the time of the Bill Power/Bopards row over transfer budget/authority.

We thought that - the ball was spinning in the air all the way into the net, our first thought was that he'd mishit it. If it was deliberate, he's a lower league Beckham/Ronaldo. So my vote is it was a mishit Smiley
