I think at this level you need a name bigger than the players... Wise, Sturrock and dare I say Kingy etc command respect from the players just because of who they are, we all know who Ollie is and thus I bet he'd get more from the players than Malpas, or say Iffy, - it's widely suggested the squad had no time for him.
Think you're right there Dave. Which is a sad reflection on the players' self-belief, professionalism, passion for the club etc etc but there it is. You play the hand you're dealt

If he turned down a job at Portsmouth would he accept one at Swindon?

So we're replacing one ex-international defender, with not much managerial experience, with an ex-international defender with no managerial experience.  Surely that won't please the masses.

Yeah but Johnny Armchairfan knows who Keown is, he's the big ugly monkey looking one

The molasses would love it because they've heard of Keown.

Anyway back to more important stuff - you're just gibbing this duel with fb because you're frightened of his eye patch aren't you?

Top job, in charge? Just chucking names about, but Jan- I think someone like Keown would be seen in a better light because this side of the border we all know who he is.

Good points.

He ain't got much of a personality from what I've seen.

I think AF will go for experience this time round, not a "new starter".

Keown can fuck right off.

Its sad that personality should come into it however as it so important can I suggest a "Big Brother" type competion,or maybe Manager Idol...
