... has been appointed coach of the Argie national team according to sources. Interesting one, I doubt it'll last long but if there was ever a man who could potentially get the very best from an Argentinian, it'll be him - They adore him

Yep. I suspect that he'll probably eventually quit after some kind of falling out.

Christ I admire your optimism I'd be suprised if he's there by the Scotland friendly!

I think he'd be more suited to a colombian 'friendly'.

Is Nestor still involved with the Argie set up?

I love this appointment, brilliant for the game, Maradona is Argentina, Argentina is Maradona.  Who cares if it all ends in tears there should be more appointments like this.  It'd be fantastic if it worked out for them!

Vamos vamos Argentina.....

Klinsman, Dunga, Bilic, Rijkaard, Van Basten and now Maradona. This trend is really rolling now. When are we going to appoint Gazza?

Scotland should appoint Andy Goram, all two of him!!  He could be manager and assistant.

The Bargeandcheatians do have a very useful squad, bit weak in defence, and lack a solid keeper....with Maradona as a sort of inspiration and someone, to do a bit of organising, it might work.

He went to assist Peckerman in Mexico after the 2006 WC.

Tim Vickery of the beeb has former Independiente boss and former international team mate of Diego's, Pedro Troglio down as the likely assistant
