I dont see whats so wrong with abusing the players if im honest.
This is a Rubbish analogy, but if the people you worked with gave you constant crticism, slagging you and your management off, wouldn't you after a while think, fuck this, I could always earn a living elsewhere. Surely it's the same with footballers, lets be honest none of our current squad are Swindon Town supporters (Pook the exception maybe) so if the fans just create this negative atmosphere and spend their time verbally abusing players and managers the players after a while will start losing the will to play for the club, which increases the chances of us being relegated. That's the way I see it anyway.

Do you not think that most of the boos at half time and at full time are aimed at Malpas and not the team? Players are still being applauded if they bother to come over and clap the crowd. I agree with you about the abuse in the car park, dont think that is acceptable for any employee.

I dunno Dell, I think it probably affects different players in different ways. Like Ifil may make a mistake that leads to a goal, we lose the crowd get on Malpas' back, but Ifil probably knows if he didn't make the mistake we might not have lost. Just an example not saying this happened.
I have heard from a STFC employee that there is a lot of gossip going round the club about the players not enjoying their football at the CG, they prefer to play away, as it were, and you can see it by the way they play.
On a side note - the fact that we have very little "personalised" songs about our players is a joke, we don't do enough to get behind the lads, fuck MM we don't need to support the bloke if you don't want to, but McNamee and such like should be given a proper welcome each match, but they get nothing.

Its not like it was during the match though is it and I dont buy that a coach full of profesional sportman are going to be scared of a mini bus of nob heads. Its easy for these players and staff to remove themselves from criticism and think it doesnt really matter,it does and now they know how much.

Just playing Devils Advocate like but its not the people they work with. Its the paying customers that are dishing it out, although I never condone it, it does throw a completely different slant on your argument

It doesn't Fred, I've worked in a job before where all I did, day after day was get moaned at by my customers, and in the end it wears you down and I began to think what's the point, I'm trying my best for these people but all they do is moan moan moan. So I went and got myself a different role and haven't looked back.

The players could have done what Cantona did when ManUre played down here. When some Town fans stayed behind to get Cantona as he was getting on the coach he chased them until Robson rugby tacked him.

Well to be honest I don't have a problem if the majority of players did what you did. I would happilly see most of them go. Its funny how Cox, Peacock and J Smith don't get booed.

Thats Bollocks though and it is a rubbish analogy, Football is different from any job in the world you cant compare jobs that we do and what they do at all.
If the crowd are booing and singing we want malpas out then surely the players know it is not aimed at them. I have not heard one player booed individually i have heard growns when a pass goes astray and if they cant handle that then they should fuck off.

I remember when I started going the players would get a huge cheer when their names were read out before kick-off. I know our players these days aren't the heroes we used to know and love, but even so... I agree, we should sing more player-specific songs...

It's slightly different with football, as with my job if I do something wrong then I get criticism as you say but if I do something right I don't get the whole office singing and chanting my name and asking for autographs.
