After hearing about the pretty decent performance yesterday, and the abuse the team and management got from a certain group of "supporters" at the CG yesterday, I was wondering whether it'd be worth getting to the ground a little earlier than usual on Tuesday to give the lads a decent welcome, just to show them there are people 100% behind them and we're not all anger fuelled morons.
Not sure if it'd work but I'm getting quite concerned at the fact our own players probably don't have much time for the average Swindon Town fan these days. Which ain't helping matters.

Not a bad idea Jan but would perhaps be better targetted for the Oldham game - a lot of people are going to struggle to get to the ground early from work etc for a midweek evening game

Ideally, you'd always want the fans to be encouraging the players in the warm up and at the start of the game.If we could for once start at a good tempo, get Macca,if selected into the game and running at their backline, then the crowd would be encouraging the players.
Incidentally, for the fans that think we've been giving the players a hard time, believe me it's nothing to the criticism that fans from the London clubs, give their players. It's not right, but please keep things in perspective,

Went to watch Villa a couple of seasons ago and sat in the Holte End. As the players warmed up the home fans had a chant for each and every one of them. That is proper support. Our best player has had his name sung perhaps a handful of times in total during his time here?!

Thats because hes a cocky git and everyone knows he will jump ship at the first opportunity. We are now approaching the stage where the fans get scared shitless that we are going to be relegated, and then the support will come. Obviously the sooner we start to properly back the players, the better chance we have of staying up.

No disrespect but the support we gave the players v Millwall and the last match v Huddersfield was very good....it only turned sour when the matches were beyond winning,if you have just watched your team fail miserably in 5 home matches you cant expect the fans to be chearing.....how about us chearing when we are winning for a change...or come to that drawing! Idont believe in slagging players while they are on the pitch....ut its down to them now to beat cobblers and then Oldham and with Walsall losing at home to Hartlepool yesterday whos to say we cant get 9 points in 6 days! In short in the main the fans have backed the team and only called for the managers head AFTER the result is beyond doubt.

I certainly don't support the action taken by the fans that abused the team. But I'm certainly not going to compensate for them by turning up early to happy clap.
To be honest I'm quite pissed off with things right now and from a football point of view I am the least interested I have been for quite some time.

I wouldnt say the support against Millwall was good at all. Everything else said is pretty spot on though. I was very harsh and critical of our support after Millwall but to their credit they surprised me against Huddersfield and made me eat humble pie. The Support was good enough last game and I hope the support continues in that way

It's not necessarily about happy clapping, it could be just having a word (of encouragement) with some of the players as they arrive, take your point about the Oldham game being better Paul.
Just hate the thought of some of our players thinking the fans who had a go at them yesterday are our typical fans. If I was a player getting abuse week in week out I think in the end I wouldn't give a shit about the fans or the club. Let's be honest if we go down half the first team would look to go elsewhere.

The support has been poor and so have the performances. But if the fact over 5000 people bought a season ticket this season isn't proof of their support then the players are fucking dumb.
