I thought Megan's law was the american version of that particular bit of legislation, think the press this side of the Atlantic were trying to get "Sarah's Law" passed over here, based on Megan's Law.

America has better election adverts than us because they have more of them - hundreds of them. People can buy TV and radio ad time on behalf of the candidates where as here the various Representation of the People Act restricts almost every broadcast and forces equal coverage for all major parties and since the 50s we've had the rigidly allocated Party Election Broadcasts.
Plus we seem to vote for a man in a suit, talking. After all Kinnock: The Movie and Major's The Journey weren't huge successes.
Sorry, I've bored myself.

I'd rather people voted for policies as opposed to personalities but they don't. It's all about spin and soundbites now.
People are generally thick as pigshit...........

To be honest you've done well to not come across her name.... I'd opt to remain ignorant.

"You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig" is great banter.
Politics is sexy again.
Well done Barack.

The Democrats never got that racist reply they were fishing for though.

Well, i stuck my head in Google, but didn't seem to learn why she's been a topic of discussion, i just learned she was governor of Alaska or something. I'm not a current affairs kinda person so i'll leave it. Ignorance is bliss. For the record, and to add to the earlier debate, I'd stick one in her.
