This is about to get nasty.
Predict a meltdown at Hereford if we dont go through.
Herthab, I think fans did give Malpas a fair go this season. But everytime things are looking up, we take a heavy defeat. Has been all the way through his time here. Im sorry, but he has all the hallmarks of a looser who is not getting us anywhere. Where are we going mate?
Next 3 games crucial.
I too think Malpas is on borrowed time. But for different reasons. We win a game and the moaning is muted for a week, we lose, or draw and they're on his back. He's never been given a chance. If Ling was manager and had the results we've had this season, would there be such a cry to sack the manager? I feel sorry for the bloke.

One thing that I will say about MM, he made a brave decision in putting Morrison in today. (There was a whole other thread about this). And seemingly it was the correct choice. Where is MM's credit for that? ?

No you're not and neither is Glos. I'm not attacking people who genuinely think Malpas isn't the manager for us. The people I have no time for are the twats that were on his case from day one and who spend every game shouting abuse to our own fucking players.

A large amount of the moaning about Malpas, certainly on the adver site, has been pretty personal -mainly about Malpas being dour and not inspiring in interviews. People I know who have chatted with him tell a different story. And anyway frankly who was the last charismatic manager we had? Glenn 'well er' hoddle? Andy 'refer to myself in the third person like a deluded boxer' King?

Ok no worries I just haven't felt this alienated from the players and management team for years. There's a them and us scenario building up at the moment and it's getting a bit poisonous to the club as a whole.

So do I. Like you said he cant do anything right for some people. Whisper it if you want, but hes always been dealt a difficult hand by Fitton, not allowed any of his own backroom staff. He must have been undermined by Byrne and Williams who have taken the team before him, it must have been awkward. Its still a tiny coaching team. As for Ling, of course not. The nostalgia would have carried him through. But Ling wouldnt agree to work without any of his own backroom staff, he wouldnt have put himself in that situation, even for Swindon Town. Neither would any established manager. Its a harsh lesson for Fitton. Football isnt like anything else. We are rudderless Herthab. If want to persist with the way things are and cruise to another 15th place, you watch the away attendances and home dwindle. We'll end up like Crewe!

If Malpas stays I'll get behind him and the team.
If he goes I'll get behind the new manager.
I don't understand why people have to like the bloke in charge...........

Not sure Malpas would have had 'his own backroom staff' in the way Sturrock did though, I don't think he really had long enough at Dundee Utd to get a staff together, whereas Sturrock carries Blackley and the other chap around with him from club to club.

Where is MM's credit for that? ? I'm not sure Morrison is the long term answer right now, though no arguing it has appeared to work today (though I wasn't there). I don't like the dropping Ifil from the squad though. His confidence is already shot. On Aljofree, he may not be Shaun Taylor but he's not as bad as people make out. I am not sure he should be captain though, unless he has the worlds quietest voice he doesn't seem to talk much.

Actually I am forgetting that if we played Ifil then we would have kept a clean sheet. Silly me. But yeah, spot on Arriba

Sturrock's operation was just him, Blackley and Summerfield wasn't it?
We have more coaching staff now than we did then!

Can't argue with any of that Spence. I just want to go to games and cheer my team on. Naive aren't I?

Tuttle, Lee and the fitness chap too I think. Or were they Wise-guys? And did Granville start under Sturrock?
