He could do a good job with them - if his stint Brentford are anything to go by.

Cheltenham have acted quickly here and their old gaffer even admitted he was doing a great job and preffered only the coaching side of things. As much as i hate Allen i think he'll give them a bit of steel that they need to stay up.

The Allen family have links to Cheltenham, I think his old man managed them or something like that. Didn't Adi Whitbread go to a Swindon game pre-Malpas appointment?

Importantly, it gives those near the dugout a chance for

Clearly the man is a prize cock who will leave at the first opportunity, but I think he'll do a good job for them.

Off topic but I was watching You're On Skysports last night, I find most callers "opinions" hilarious.

Anywho, they had this young lad who supports Liverpool waffling on... Martin Allen asks him why he doesn't support Reading,

MA: "Why do you support Liverpool? I'm from Reading, and I support Reading."
Caller: "Funnily enough I'm a Reading season ticket holder too"
<silence>

Sure, Martin Allen could've asked all but one of the fans who called why don't they support their local team but that particular moment made me smile.

Typcial Reading. Half arsed two club wanker shirters.

Couple of years ago, Martin Allen was on Youre on sky sports. This Arsenal fan was on, I could see it a mile off, but they missed it completely. He was moaning about the lack of spirit at Arsenal and he said, 'but if we had someone like Martin Allen in the team, we would soon be relegated'. The camera was on Allen and his face just dropped like a stone. Didnt laugh or anything, just cut the caller off. I thought what a pair of wankers, not having a laugh at something like that.
