I have never had any problems with Ben as most know before you take the piss. Ok when all the takeover lark was going through he was caught in the middle but he has said in the past that the club was mis-managed. Unfortunately really he was caught in the middle and got a lot of abuse which was unmerited purely due to the family connecton with Mike D and being at Dunwoody. I knew Ben was leaving early last week and I chose not to say anything as it is up to him or for someone else to say something and despite what many people think, The guy does care about Swindon Town and has become a fan over the years. He tried to commute etc to Swindon but as I'm sure Mex can appreciate it would be a hell of a journey to make daily and I wish him well in the future.

All very good Gazzza, but would the fella have got the job without Diamandis being family? To Greeks, nepotism is how things are done.  As soon as the loathed previous regime went Lambert should have gone as well...the fact that he no longer works fro teh club doesn't prevent him being a fan, and being a fan shouldn't be a crieria fro getting the job.

Ben helped us out loads with getting us a kit etc for Worldnet so I've got nothing but respect for the bloke.

OK so Ben MAY have used his connections to get his job. So what! If the chance to move from Dunwoodys to STFC kept him employed i really can't blame him for using his opportunities.  Is anyone really going to say that they wouldn't have done the same thing had they been in his position. He was very aware of peoples thoughts about his father in law and this did cause him so problems, to his credit he always tried to do his best for the club. If you saw him after we had won a game you would have quickly realised that deeply cared for the club....At times he got it wrong, haven't we all ! As far as i'm concerned good luck to him and his wife..

I've heard he don't like you much Arnold!  He told me you're part of the reason he's leaving, something about a "one way love".

I wish him well. He tried very hard to make something of a shite situation for the club.

Didn't Lambert merely deny us promotion that day as opposed to denying us the League 2 championship? It was Walsall vs. Hartlepool for 1st and 2nd by then and Swindon vs. Dongs for 3rd and 4th.

We'd have had to beat Rovers and Walsall to win it, thanks to the monkey hangers better GD.

But had he not scored, Rovers wouldn't have gone up.

We had the chance to keep them down with just a draw. And get ourselves promoted with a win.

That was a long trip home.
