My house i live in has been put on the market with no mention that I live there for prospective buyers... i don't have to get out til January legally, and it's annoyed me. I've only been in it for just over a month, and i have to say i really could do without the hassle, and the cost of moving again (admin fees, van rental, Sky installation)

What would any of you lot do in this situation? It's fucked me right off, and i feel like venting.

Well, that and potentially losing my job in February. This month has been shit.

Surley the landlord would have to buy you out of your agreement if they sell earlier than your agreement ends??

I'm in agreement with Fred, I thought your landlord would, legally, have to tell the prospective buyers that you have a legal contract to stay there until January.

Well that's what i would have thought. She's desperate to get us out of there, and the hassle we're getting from estate agents to arrange viewings is driving me mad. We had one calling at 6pm on the Friday trying to get a viewing in for Saturday lunchime. Needless to say i refused, but they still turned up anyway and tried peering through the windows... I really could do without this.

Just don't clean up for a while just happen to be in, naked or at the very least pissed up, when viewers come round and find yourself a place for Januray/February.  Sounds like your landlords a knob.  Next time you have a viewing get a load of mates round for a drinking session.

Do you reckon your landlord is having financial problems or something?

In the current market, there's a good chance the sale will fall through in any case.  (Even speaking as a home owner, I'm fairly sure that things are going to get worse still before they get better.)

She's got divorced. She has 3 houses out of it (this being one) and she wants to sell 'em all.

Is there anything in your tenancy?

In nearly every tenancy agreement i have had the landlord has had to give at least 24 hours notice for himself or a contractor to come over and at a time suitable for all of us. However i do seem to recall having one that stated when my tenancy was coming to an end people would be able to view the property without me being there and no notice etc

I feel for you though, the landlord sounds like a dick. He/she could have at least warned you it was going on the market.

Lots of lanldords seel to other investors.  The landlord can sell with a sit in tenant as long as its stated when sale is approved.  I would suggest you speak to teh landlord.  Have you been given a Section 21 (Notice to Quit)? If not it will take two months froma rent day and then court papares so in reality it could take 3 months to get you out.  Any advice shout unles im the agent involved

Even had a client get repossessed, tenants still in paying money 4 montsh later and hasnt a clue, the mortgage company wanted me to pay rent without my fee so I just deduct it and they havent said a thing.

Yes, good business acumen to be selling at this particular time.
