Have to say I am confident of Phil Smith's shot stopping ability, but always worry with crosses into the box. As said, the save he made in the second half from the header was simply superb, but he did flap at a few crosses. That said, I'd say he did well enough to keep his place. The defence played much better this week, especially Jack Smith. First time I've seen Casal play, and I thought he did alright. Ifil's defensive work is first rate, but his distribution lets him down. As for Aljofree, he got a load of stick for putting the ball into touch, but as he was running back towards his own goal Phil Smith shouted to him to get rid, so that's what he did. There was no way he could tell from his position that he had time to control the ball & clear it up field, and the abuse he got wasn't necessary. That said, he should know better than to react and gesture to the crowd. On the whole though the had a good game. As it has been said, Marhall caused them problems when he came on, but I thought that McNamee did when he was on (in the second half). Odd that the stats say we had 58% possession, cause it seemed like we conceeded possession a lot, and kept it tight. All in all a great win today, the only thing that could have made it better, would of been Sean (the greedy bastard) O'Hanlon giving away the pen as well I missed the Aljofree indicent I think I was talking to Macca but I expect its much easier to see whats going on from the stands than it is actually on the pitch with a striker on your back. Aljofree was right though are fans do like to talk a bit of bollocks now and again.

I thought the stick Aljofree got was unnecessary. And wtf was up with booing at half time? Was there a reason for this? We weren't that bad. Or even bad at all, really.
Sad, but this has made my weekend after those three defeats on the trot (especially as it was McDongs and nobody I spoke to could imagine a win, inc. myself). Here's to progress against Aldershot.

Basically, there were about 10-15 Town fans having a right go at Alojofree at one stage in the first half and he made a hand gesture to them (not the wanker sign, just the 'you talk too much' kind of sign) Football fans make me laugh though. One minute they're gobbing off all sorts of obscenities then they get the tiniest of reactions from the player and the next minute it's "Ooooh, you shouldn't be doing that to your own fans.....oooooh, fuck me I'm mentally scarred for life....ooooh, your worse than Hitler you are" Shut the fuck up please. It's cringeworthy when your fans have a go at a player like that. It just was not called for. And it's not as if it's going to make him play better is it? Wankers.

I saw the hand gesture....but for the life me couldnt understand what on earth he had done wrong. Im sure I saw him with a striker closing him down turn and put the ball out for a throw in. Apparently that wasnt good enough for some fans

I must admit rather alot of our fans would prefer to see our defenders try and go on a mazy run when they get the ball with a striker at their back, rather than just hoof it into the stand

he sorted of apolgised afterwards. he put out his hand in an apolgetic manner. All he done was boot the ball out of play.

You'll probably find it's the 1/2 dozen or so numbnuts who post on the comments on the adver site. If they had half a brain they would be up in poker terms.

Smith deserves to start next league game. Brez has flapped about a little to much in the first few games, but even if Smith wasn't miles better and made a few errors it seems like an unnecessary change to a team with a good away win.
Aljofrees fan ribbing seemed good humoured to me. Not in the same league as cunty brown cunt anyway.
Psychic.
