You what?

Phil Smith was rock solid and pulled off 3 really good saves to keep us in it. He took his chance today with two hands and got us the 3 points today.

Although I seemed to have missed their goal....all I saw was the corner come in and them score. Everyone else seemed to see Smith flap and miss it....so I'll have to have another look I think.

Sean O'Hanlon is really fucking shit and the first goal fuck up couldnt have happened to a nicer wanker.

Penatly was debatable but do think Bennett might have been making up for the clear foul on Marshall by Lewington who loves giving away penalties against us.

Much more battle in the team today and thought every one did well, hard to pick a man of the match but Phil Smiths contribution played a big part in the 3 points today

From the Adver report:

Phil Smith's second half error looked as though it had gifted Franchise a point after Billy Paynter's third goal of the season gave Town the lead.

The goalkeeper, in for the dropped Peter Brezovan, completely missed Mark Wright's corner allowing Jude Stirling to bundle home an equaliser on 65 minutes.

I'm probably being slightly unfair to Smith, maybe its because I just dont rate him I pick up on any mistake he makes.

he also made a brilliant save second half to deny a goal. Cancelled out his error

even with the good save he made in the first half he caught it then fumbled it at the forwards feet then the shot got blocked and cleared, thats 2 errors, luckily only 1 got punished

I was at the other end to their goal so really didnt get the best view....but he pull of 3 really good saves.

One of them from the away end looked in all the way, the plastic people behind the goal were already celebrating...then all of a sudden Smith got across and turned it wide.

Thought for sure it was in

both keepers will struggle until the back four get their act together we are too sloppy at times.

Just got back and a very satisfying win. 1st half was possibly the most boring game of football I've ever witnessed but was worth it for the second half.

Cox looked lively and continues to link well with paynter. Nalis was good today as was Easton who I feel is desperately needed back in the centre. Smith played on both sides today and was pretty good and bar distribution Ifil was immense again making 1 or 2 last ditch challenges. Aljofree was also better but his baiting of fans should see him have the captains armband taken away as he isn't captain material. Marshall also look very lively when he came on which is promising.
The only negative was Smith......all this bollocks about him commanding his box better was proven to be rubbish. The goal was his fault, pretty much every cross he punched and flapped often not knowing where the ball was going. He made some top saves but all keepers should be good shot stoppers its the other areas such as crosses and decision making where the cream rises to the top. As well as the goal in the 1st half he almost cost us a goal where he whacked the ball straight at their striker and also when they hit the bar in the 1st half he was poorly positioned 3 or 4 yards off his line so if it had been going in he would of been in trouble.
Brez has taken alot of criticism and rightly so and so now must Smith, IMO he is no better than Brez and unfortunately at this present time with Brez low on confidence and Smith not as good as people make so our goalkeeping situation is a bit up in the air at the moment.
Admittedly it was Smiths first game back so maybe he needs time to bed back in but today was far from being an assured display.

Best bit of the day though was after the game the number of bites my AFC wimbledon flag got was priceless. MK is a souless town and the stadium just didn't feel like a football ground.

And there speaks the most sensible post so far, words of wisdom ...
We will all have a different views, definitely when it comes to goalkeepers.

Which again suggests we've got a bit of a goalkeeping problem at the moment in terms of form and confidence.
