1st Half - Ive never been more bored at a football game in my life

2nd Half - Was a lot better - thought cox had fucked it up, but was a nice little lay off in the end, and good finish. Looked like Smith completely missed the ball when he come out for a punch for their goal. I thought it was a Pen - but i also thought their one was a Pen at the end!

Other stuff.....

The ground was sexy - very modern and nice padded seats. But it didnt feel like a football stadium. There were small pockets of atmosphere, and too many open spaces and echos. It was just strange and quiet and didnt feel like your normal away match. Also its very hard to take Franchise seriously anyway.

And I dunno what Hansy was doing in 1st half....he got some stick from the fans for booting the ball out when he had ages to control it and turn. So he turns round and starts doing cocky hand movements to our fans! He did it about three times - he'll soon get the boos JPM gets if he keeps that up (not that i agree with booing our own players).

And i still think Casal is shit.

According to Malpas, Aljofree was sick today, before the game and during it. I think it was some kind of illness, not Keith Scott-style nerves/pie consumption.

That was great! du du du du du du!! 1st haf was poor. second half was better. Marshall i thought looked very handy.

I thought the best bit was when Peacock went in goal at half time!

There fans are saying it was a certain penalty for us. Had reports from people who went that said the atmosphere was superb. And in Di matteo's notes, i like the bit that mentions the opposition crowd. Seems like our fans did well.

Good result, strange afternoon.

yep. there was something that just didn't feel like a real away game...weird pub as well.

first half was painfully dull, second half was a vast improvement. we deserved the win.

impressed with easton and nalis today, smith made one or two key saves but was hesitant clearing the ball at times which could have proved costly.

marshall should have had a penalty, he was physically forced off the ball - bennett was making up for it giving the second shout.

a satisfying 2-1 away win. i've got plenty of pics and a video of the goal which i'll upload imminently...

edit: the atmosphere reminded me of lords.

i agree as well. Pub was wierd and a bit of trek as well. Ground was nice from the inside and it will look better when the develop the 2nd tier. Way hot today, stupidly hot. 1st half was a snoooze. 2nd half was much better. i have the pen on my phone and i will upload that ASAP

I'll take your word for it as I wasn't there.

According to Malpas apart from the flap it was a good performance from Smith.

You what?

Phil Smith was rock solid and pulled off 3 really good saves to keep us in it. He took his chance today with two hands and got us the 3 points today.

Although I seemed to have missed their goal....all I saw was the corner come in and them score. Everyone else seemed to see Smith flap and miss it....so I'll have to have another look I think.

Sean O'Hanlon is really fucking shit and the first goal fuck up couldnt have happened to a nicer wanker.

Penatly was debatable but do think Bennett might have been making up for the clear foul on Marshall by Lewington who loves giving away penalties against us.

Much more battle in the team today and thought every one did well, hard to pick a man of the match but Phil Smiths contribution played a big part in the 3 points today
