I'll take you both out to Bowood next time I take the kids up there. Ben can bake pirate-themed cakes, Reg can amuse the kids with tales of how Bowood used to be in the old days before steam trains, and I'll just talk shite as usual. Then we can all ring Gazza from the top of the death slide and tell him what a great time we're having and where he can stick his BBQ. It'll be ace.

Ben would be better with the kids....they could play Pirates of The Caribbean...
 I could drink rum.

I could however regale them with stories of Black Dog Halt....his Lordship's private station

...that is if I could find the photo-copied research I did on it a few years back.

I recently discovered that teh Clane branch, had a short lived extension, that ran on through Compton Bassett to the RAF camp at Yatesbury, no idea of where the metals were though.

The open day is Sunday. There are some quality acts to tempt you. No, really...

Fortunately I'm away this weekend, so sparing me having to struggle to resist the "temptation"

Hmm, it does sound fascinating but not sure it would hold the kids' attention, they're a bit more Spiderman and Power Rangers than "Local lord's private rail extension". OK, tell you what, Ben does the cakes and plays PoC with the kids on the pirate's ship, we'll sit and get pissed on rum and you can tell me about the private station.

Yeah I was going to that as well, I was gutted that it was cancelled - poor ticket sales apparently, not surprising I suppose being open air with the weather the way it is !

I was looking forward to using my backstage pass

was it really poor ticket sales? I heard Eastern Breeze and Bowood have been having "issues"

I was so looking forward to it as its so close to home! loads of us were going - we had even planned our walking route into Bowood to save getting caught in traffic

I bet girls aloud will split up now and I will never get the chance to see them
