Have to say they've improved it massively from last year but still some shoddy parts. I just can't get into fifa for some reason despite everybody creaming themselves about it so will be pro evo for me again this year.

ive always been a huge pro evo fan, i bought fifa and pro evo last year and thought they were both a load of bollocks. having played the fifa 09 demo this week i went and bought a copy and i was very impressed, it looks and feels like a new game, good gameplay, great online play and amazing graphics!!  however having played pro evo 09 demo, i have to say it looks exactly the same with only a few tweaks to the gameplay, yes the lag issue has gone but lets face it, it shouldnt have fuckin bin there in the first place! the graphics on pro evo 09 are EXACTLY the same as last years too, which in my opinion are to bright jagged edged and pretty much awfull!!  konami have done bugger shit to pro evo this year, and they certainly wont get my cash this year!! fifa 09 defo wins the 09 battle, and as a die hard pro evo fan im really gutted!!!!

I played sensi the other day. It was only the rather arcady snes version, still fun though. I beat my mate 5-1 in an epic Malta vs. England show down. Good times.

hobodan aren't the improvements in versions of pes normally in the gameplay and other more important tweaks than the aesthetic? pes has hardly changed looked wise on the ps2 over a decade of updates, yet play pes1 and pes8, or whatever they got up to, and in terms of the technical side of things it is drastically different.

pes 2008 for the ps2 was subtle in its difference to pes6, but the type of moves you could put together on the new one, and goals you could score, made it worthwhile upgrading.

i'd like to have a go on the new pes on ps3 when it comes out, as it would be the only reason to pursuade me to buy the console. I've been looking around at tv's too, and found a nifty 19" flatscreen for £160 (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/134819)- would have to get that too. i hope my dole money comes soon (p.s. i'm not a complete layabout, i'm training to be a primary school teacher). i'm just looking for an excuse to buy stuff really though; i rarely watch tv or play computer games (except football manager) now.

the gameplay in pro evo is probably still just better than fifa, but theres not too much in it! im just dissapointed at pro evo because i thought 08 was really crap graphics wise (epsecially on a large hd tv), and i wasnt over impressed with the gameplay either, not to mention the lag! was just hoping for a lot more this year i guess. is stiill think pro evo 06 is the best footy game (gameplay wise) out there!

football manager is the game i play the most!!

you cant beat doing a press conference in the kitcheon wearing just underpants at 1am!

agreed, the first pes effort on the ps3 was rubbish. the skippy thing ruined it, and it didnt play well either - had lost the fluidity of the ps2 versions.

I actually agree there and i'm also a PES man mainly. I do think PES2009 will be good and i do like the demo. I am however really enjoying Fifa as well. The gameplay is so much better on Fifa09 than on previous Fifas and that's including 08. Online play is very good on Fifa as well. You can have 10 on 10 and create your own team. Great stuff. PES will be enjoyable for me as well no doubt but i do feel that Fifa has finally bridged what was a huge gap 2 years ago.

Just bought this for an absolute steal at £27 from asda.

Both PS3 and 360 version available at this price while stocks last.

Was sold out in ASDA when I went to get it so I had to pay full whack in Game as Tescos were sold out as well.  Seems to be a lot better than the last version - Online has improved massively (which wasn't really hard after PES 08), although there are still the occasional games where it lags a bit.  The crowd effects are shockingly bad and sound so fake it's unbelievable although I've read somewhere that you can import chants etc.
I'm just waiting for someone to release an option file for the PS3 version with all the kits etc for the premiership.
If anyone fancies a game on PS3 give me a shout.  My username is - rossi23

It's an improvement. Shooting is like PES6 i think which was better. Also you don't give away a foul when you pressure this time like you did all the time on PES 2008. Think it's good but haven't tried the become a legend mode or played online yet.
