Paynters goal was brilliant.
Only shame was our start to the second half, just never picked him up. Bit better defensively and we could have turned them over.
Still, they were a good team and it was a great game.

Was it paynter who had that great effort in the first half that Camp tipped over the bar? He went quiet in places but Paynter had another good game. As did Cox.

The cross was fantastic - I think most people thought he was going to take the defender on. Great.

Great game. Agree with most of what has been said already. QPR deserved their win, but we can take a lot of positives from that, mainly our quality attacking play and determination.
Casal needs to be reminded he's a left back. Malpas just make him stand next to vincent in training and learn. AT TIMES YOU NEED TO DEFEND 1ST , PLAY FOOTBALL 2ND. And stop leaving the best player on the pitch in so much space. (probably the best we'll face all season unless we get one of the real big boys in the FA cup)
That said he did do some good things as well. He really is Quick and a genuine athlete and does not lack footballing ability. His tackling was alright as well. But he realy really needs to work on his positioning and marking and fast. We'll end up getting murdered away from home with him going AWOL like that at times. I can see why we signed him though, because if you could add a bit of vincent-like discipline and positional sense to his game I think he'd look a really good player.
Didnt think much of Aljofree last night either. Blackstock is a good player but he really struggled at times for me. Thought Morrison was the better of our centre backs.

Oh, quick shout out to Lofty from Eastenders who was in the Executive Box last night! I thought he was a gooner, maybe his son supports QPR, although they were having a laugh when town went 2-1 up!

I agree - Aljofree wasn't terrible or anything, but Morrison did a decent job. Casal was drifting was from Ledesma far too much. A few fans behind me were slagging off Nalis most of the 2nd half which I thought was harsh - not his greatest game but when you consider who we've had in that position and how they've played..... It was by no means a perfect display but it would have been good enough to beat many teams in our division.

Aljofree was wrong side of the man on occasions which allowed QPR to really penetrate our defence. Morrison made a couple of errors, one of which led to one of their goals. He'll learn from that though and get better and better. In the air I thought both centre halves looked good though, won a lot of ball.
Nalis and Timlin both didn't look as good as they did on Saturday but when you consider the standard of midfield they were playing against last night I think that's to be expected. They'll look much better on Saturday.

fair enough Jan, I'll relent on Brez. I thought he was generally superb, as did my QPR mate, but one kick almost led to a goal, which obviously stuck in my mind.
I'm surprised by the stick Casel's getting. Ok, he was fairly naive at times, but he won't face a better player all season and from what my mate was saying, their no.20 was superb against Barnsley. Casel only joined us last thursday. I think given time he is going to be an exceptional player. He has pace in abundance and once he has a bit of confidence, I think he'l be good for us, much like Comminges grew in stature. And if that means no more Vincent then that's fine by me, his predictable long balls are as boring as Aljofree's mindless hoofs. Aljofree is a good player IMO, just needs to sort his distribution.
At the back to have four decent players vying for two players is very promising. Morrison looked really good last night.

Agree with Casal Juddie, I can't see why he gets stick, okay he's not a conventional full back but rarely does someone get past him. Once he's used to MM's ways and his team mates I think he'll be better than Miguel.
And I know what you mean about Brez's one crap kick, other than that kick his really improved his distribution I think.

agree Jan, on reflection when passed the ball Brez's kicking is actually quite good. I remember shitting it when his misplaced kick almost led to a shot on goal last night, so that must be why it stuck in my mind.
And agree totally with Cassel. Very quick and I think he'll be mint.
All in all, if fans are still staying away after the last two games then more fool them. We're playing superb football and so far, so good.
Keep it chaps.

Some guy on 606 was saying how he never goes to Carling cup matches, I did have a wry smile, "you missed a cracker" was my thoughts on that.
Not going to Cheltenham, so looking forward to Colchester already, we do need to sort out the atmosphere though, asap.
Perhaps the Board could offer some season ticket holders a slight reduction to go back in the TE? Something needs to be done, it's so quiet at the moment.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying Casal is shit. I appreciate he hasnt had long to get to know the lads, and that their number 20 was ace.
Its just at times last night he was very very naive, ie not getting closer to 20 1st half, almost getting caught out on the edge of our box by trying to turn. Not really knowing when to stay in position and when to offer support to the midfield.
I do think that theres a very good league 1 player in there, I just hope it comes out sooner rather than later otherwise he is going to cost us some goals in the meantime.
And the atmoshprere in the town end last night wasnt too bad, mainly in the 1st half. probablly not that loud to non town enders though as it really wasnt very full. We tried though.
Could lack of atmosphere be the downfall of the season ticket offer?

As someone mention earlier Casal does look much like the Minge did in his first few games - out of position and out of sync with the rest of the defence. He needs to be taught and to get used to his centre back partners. But the advantage that Casal has is that is he six years younger than Comminges.

qpr had the best midfield we'll come up against all season; not surprised that timlin and nalis weren't at the top of their game.
casal gets too close to the centre-back at times, not helped by the fact macca isn't brilliant at tracking back - he's very exposed. not to mention he was up against the best player on the pitch in ledesma...
aljofree was pretty poor as well.

any highlights anywhere?
they did deserve the win, still, two soft soft goals either side of half time certainly helped them on their way.
very impressed with us though.
