Right, all of you Royal Mail employees, I need some advice.
Since I moved into my apartment in Weston, I've been having problems with my mail delivery. I noticed that a number of items of mail I was expecting weren't turning up at all. The problem was really highlighted on three occasions.
1. My mortgage advisor mailed me back three pay slips that were required as evidence for my mortgage application. They were posted in May and have never turned up to date.
2. When I went on holiday for two weeks in late May/early June, I expected to receive 4 magazine subscriptions. None of them turned up. They have all been replaced by the mags in question, but thats not the point. Subsequently though, a few other issues have mysteriously not been delivered. One particular magazine has been sent four times over the past month, and never received.
3. Just recently, I was expecting a tax disc from DVLA - not received - and a PIN number for my new debit card - not received x 2. Plus I'm missing bank statements, credit card statements etc.
I am extremely concerned about this, particularly the pay slips, tax discs and statements. Especially when there are numerous unscrupulous characters out there who can steal your identity. I have checked with all the companies involved and confirmed that they all have my correct address details.
What the hell can I do about this? Its got to the point where I have no faith in Royal Mail whatsoever to deliver anything. Strangely though, they can manage to deliver hoardes of junk mail.......

complain like hell. they'll most likely stick some test letters in the round of your postman, if they dont get delivered, he gets fucked. have you talked to your neighbours to see if they've had similar problems?

And it's an inconvenience, but you could maybe arrange to pick your mail up from the sorting office?

Might want to check your credit card bills/credit record, cos the stuff going missing there is classic identity theft stuff.
Don't mean to worry you or owt, but be careful.

Talking about postmen/women. Mine comes always between 1-2pm. grrr. But at least I receive it, I suppose. Sometimes we get our parcels delivered to the wrong street, but same number, the people who live there keep the stuff (thieving bastards) I would've been down the mail office by now if I was pumbaa.

Thanks for all the advice. I know one neighbour who has had two tax discs go missing. There may be others. I've called the Weston mail centre and they've told me to claim on a P58 Form; that said, I may well follow arriba's advice and pay them a visit in person. Its difficult for me to pick mail up from the sorting office on a regular basis as I generally don't get home before 1730, and quite often use the train. I've checked all my accounts on line, and so far no issues. Things like this sure make you twitchy and more diligent about handling your personal data mind. And not once did I call a postie a cunt......oh

I can only think of two possible reasons for this: Ralphy has been transferred to your area or your post code is actually the same as the one for the end of the pier!! On a more serious note, I have been waiting three weeks for a large envelope posted in Northampton, second class, to Swindon. I complained to the company concerned who promised to put another in the post on Wednesday, that one turned up today!! And we no longer get a Saturday delivery in my area it would seem, and I live in Swindon!!

On a slightly related topic, what happens when postpersons have a week off?
It seems that round my way you just don't get any post for a week.
