Malpas has said that we cant really go for many more players as we have stretched the budget already, we have only signed Nalis and awanker? Also i thought 4weeks ago we bid £150k for mulgrew so how comes we cant use that.

Do you think we may be being a bit savvy and splitting the budget to see what/if is needed in january?

Not that for sure. The club has paid it. The arguements are between the supervisor & creditors etc. Besides the club is run properly now so will have budgets in place.
I actually think that AF will spend if he sees value in spending. ie iF the right player comes along at the right price the money will be found. He has said that & I believe him. It also makes sense that whilst negotiating with other clubs & players you should take the approach that we haven't a big pot of money available, otherwise they will demand more.

I think he probably means wage budget rather than transfer budget.

Amankwaah can't be on that much, but I expect Nallis is on a bit and so will Betsy if we sign him.

Fitton said last night on Points West that the budget was looking ok financially, hoefully we'll break even but football clubs at this level do not make decent profits.

He also mentioned he needed to let Malpas know about another signing and that Malpas hadn't asked for as much as may be expected for the budget.

Sounds Like MM is being stereotypical scottish, and putting out stories of no money, so we can sneak in and overbid for decent players, either that or he's just plain tight.

Perhaps he is putting it about that he has no money left so the clubs they are negotiating with don't think we have got's lot's to spend and bump up the prices

I think it was simply meant to say that we aren't being silly and will only get players in if they improve that particular area - i.e. not spending for the sake of it.

Fitton said before last night's game that he had yet to tell Malpas we will probably be signing a player today (it hasn't happened though obviously).
