Following on from a discussion about the proposed GB football team in the Other Football thread, I thought it would be interesting to guage how people define their nationality. Especially with the amount of people claiming to be british and then moaning about having a Scot as Prime Minister.

I've only seen the you scot monkeys bring up the Scottish Prime Minister thing. Don't bother me not bit.
I have absolutely no problem as seeing myself as both British and English, aswell as a few other things, which breaks down your poll a bit. I'd vote other but then that makes me look like I'm a dirty foreigner.

Ooooh. I'd also like to point that I put very little importance in where I happened to be born. Something else which your poll doesn't reflect.
In fact this is the problem with polls, very few discussions can be pigeon-holed in discreet options like this, especially something like your views on nationality. There's such a wide range of possible opinions that your poll options are completely arbitrary, my opinions on the subject are no more likely to be the same as someone who's voted the same as me than they are to someone who's voted differently, which makes the whole thing a bit pointless.

My dad brought me up well, I support Scotland in national sporting events, and as such with england being the auld enemy I like to see them do awfully (which to be fair doesn't happen that often). But when it does it's great!!

Im not going to edit it as I dont think you can consider yourself equally British and English/Scottish/Jamaican so there. ner ner ner ner ner.
Basically what do you put down as nationality on application forms etc.

Hun! I'm no hun, but I can't change the nationality of my mum!! I'm not a union jack waver though, or a gstq singer, puck that loyalist shite. Luckily my mum's got Irish blood in her, so that's where I get my Catholicism from!! God save the Pope as Artur Borac would say (on his t-shirt). |
