What's happening up there then? They've announced 2 singings in the last 2 weeks only for them both to fall through.

It's quite funny as they are a club that "pride themselves" on conducting business in a quiet need to know manner - they've dropped two clangers this week and their fans are going mental.

The collapse of Mifsud deal is odd. I think Johnson was worried about losing a second player to Palace so pulled out of the transfer - stating he didn't like the way business was being conducted.

Why are they agreeing record transfer fees and then deciding that the player "isn't right"?
Seems like a bit of an amateur operation to me.

Exactly. It's very odd - they're blaming Mifsud's big I am attitude... If every club was like that they'd be missing most of their best players - we'd certainly not have Cox who is known for his self-confidence. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_3883951,00.html

Johnson has form though, he turned down Easter because of his attitude while discussing terms with them.

To be fair (although I've spent most of the past week ripping the piss out of the st at work for this), they were nailed on to sign the Egyptian then turned to Mifsud as back-up when that fell through, and it looks like he was really only using them to see what else he could attract. And I'd have quite a lot of sympathy with the "if he's going to tart around then he isn't going to be committed to coming here so we can do without that" approach. If more clubs took that line, there'd be a lot less baggage players picking up huge wages for putting in half a shift

Nothing wrong with that. Could see Easter was a scumbag the way he treated Wycombe when we were after him. Sure he will do the same to Plymouth if the chance ever arises. To turn round and give players a slap in the face when they are playing up like this is the only way their behaviour will improve. Too many players dont respect managers, clubs or fans. They will find other players, just like we will.

Looks like they're getting Nicky Maynard now. In excess of £2m apparently.

In others words they turned City down, and he is trying to save face by saying the players attitude was wrong

The difference with Easter and Mifsud is that with the Easter, a fee was agreed but not personal terms - fair enough, probably the right choice. However, with Mifsud - a fee was agreed and so were personal terms... The chairman said it was a done deal and then all of a sudden there's some kind of problem with the mentality of the player.
I think it's more likely that Johnson realised he was going to sign a player for £1.5million on the basis of 1/2 of a season of goals.
