JPC82 - I'v eheard that you talk a lot of shit and you are proving it!!! If Macklin is in bother I'm pretty certain that I'd know - he's one player that I know about, whatever other people may think they know on here

Thought overall it was ok tonight. We played well but lacked the creativity up front. Many ideas tried, most never came off, that's the way it goes sometimes.

I thought Paynter and Peacock linked the play well, whenever Paynter held up the ball he was looking to bring in the midfield and if he went to flick the ball on he called it (I heard him shout for Peacock/Joyce to run on). I thought Peacock played well on the shoulder of defenders but didn't quite have the pace to exploit the clever interplay between the two strikers.

Midfield wise I thought the middle two were really good. Nallis looks composed and could be a decent addition. Timlin was confident to run on and do some nice passing and moving, he put in some excellent tackles and was really creating space for us. McGovern looks hungrier for the ball and puts in more tackles now. McNamee was not given the ball enough and when he did get it, just didn't look up to taking people on. He didn't do anything wrong, and in fact looked very dangerous when he tried his tricks/to run around people, but otherwise quite placid. Allen didn't really get into the game.

In defence it really was a very mixed bag. Thought Ifil and Kanyuka dominated the middle when they were on. There was one occassion Cardiff got round the back for a clean shot on goal but Phil Smith did very well and the striker hit it at him. Smith hung on to the ball at the first time of asking. Brez just doesn't look confident in comparison, or maybe I just don't feel as confident when he's between the sticks.

The trialist didn't have much to do, but closed down and got himself in the way. Didn't really bomb forward or pass as well as I hoped (quite Vincent-like). Morrison had a mental 10 minutes where he went missing but after that looked confident and assured and dealt with the ball well. Jack Smith looked good going forward but Comminges had the better of him in the second half and I thought he drifted into the middle far too much, leaving that flank exposed. Better crossing would have punished him. Kennedy played really well going forward and in defence. McNamee seemed to play better when he was on the pitch as well.
