Simon Cox not playing against 'Nam today after surgery to his hand, not the best news of the summer I hope its nothing serious enough to keep him out of the first game of the season, but surgery is usually a couple of weeks recuperation. Fingers crossed, cos we are gona need him come August the 9th.

hopefully its a minor surgery - lots of players play with hands bandaged ... as hes the only player to score for us so far in pre season it will be nice to see someone else on the scoresheet -- unless we dont get any!!

Saw Dick Mackey out last night, apparently 10 players are receiving treatment for injuries at the moment.

If we dont get any with a strong squad like that, we'd deserve to go down. Just on my way down there now. Should be good.

I had heard a whisper from inside the club from Thursday that he had damaged his hand, such a shame cos he was on fire this pre season.
I hope it is minor surgery and doesnt need a full cast just as you state some bandaging, Blair played against Salisbury with a bandaged hand on Wednesday and Aljofree had his bandaged too so there is always hope.
Seems to be a spate of hand injuries in the squad lately.....wierd.

I should imagine he'll be fine to play for the Cardiff game to be honest - players tend to play with hand injuries a lot now thanks to wonderous methods of protection!

Adver reporting that Coxy broke a bone in his hand, from a training ground accident.
MM confident that Coxy will be fit for the Tranmere opener.A case of watch this space...

why would a striker be forced out because of a hand injury?

B'ah they'll strap his wrist up and tell him to grin and bear it.

Because it's pretty fucking painful when you break a bone in your hand. Although, Tranmere is far away enough to make me think he'll be fine for then.

yeah but i'd have thought with strapping and proper treatment it would be ok. though i've never broken a bone in my hand, so dont know how much it would hurt

I've only broken my thumb, but I couldn't play sports for 4 weeks, just because it hurt when I ran around and the risk of fucking it up more was too much to take. Also wanking is impossible and your other, less co-ordinated hand just can't cope. It's one of the worst things that can happen to a 14 year old boy I tell thee.
