The Thames used to be a major transport link....with lots a thirsty boatmen, hence the large numbers of pubs on it in seemingly quiet places. A classic used to be the Anchor at Eaton Hastings, but that burnt down....aside from Radcot, there's the Trout at Tadpole Broidge....must be SY's local and the Rose Revived at Newbridge. Further along I don't know much about as it gets close to O*frod, so don't go there.

I've done a chunk from the start to near O*frod, then Wallingford to near Reading, then oddly some London stuff, which is fascinating. I don't much like the area between Reading and London...although I'm sure it would be an interesting walk. |
